Haven't watched it in ages but I liked it back then. I could have done without his strange screaming and grunting that he does to command his dance army.
I like how he smashes his face on the ground and it falls apart.

Yep, that was the best bit, and the choreography to '2 Bad', but that annoying screaming puts me off. It's far too long. It's only ever been released on VHS. I like it when that bint Diane Dimond claimed she had to get a bootleg from Tokyo because it was so rare, when you can actually just pick it up from any major music store outside the US lol

Anyone spot Mos Def as one of the villagers? biggrin

I got the Ghosts box, with the VHS and the "on the line" single

It should be released on dvd, and also the making-of thriller

Yep..I just loved seeing all the awesome dancing. It was Michael at his best. For me, my favorite albums by Michael were "HIStory Disc 2" and "Blood On The Dance Floor" (the new songs) so seeing this video was a real treat! It was like an update of Thriller in the sense that it had a plot and acting and yada yada yada.

I like "Ghosts" more than "Thriller" simply because I thought there were some deep emotions. I can see why the public might be a bit turned off by it now, because if they think Michael was guilty, the whole idea of this character entertaining children in their home, might put a yucky feeling in their stomach.

However, if you are a fan, and think Michael is innocent, then you can probably enjoy this awesome video for everything it was meant to be. Fun and entertainment at it's best!

That video was brilliant. A perfect Halloween video. People spend so much time discussing his alleged accusations that they forget his accomplishments.
Also, I had an agruement on here that Prince ripped off part of "2 Bad" in his song "Judas Kiss". You've got to be deaf not to hear the similarities.
Ghosts was great. NOtice how Mike's work with Teddy Riley is different from everyone's else's work with Teddy? MJ accepted noing less than his best. I alwasy thought Teddy sold 1,000 variations of about two grooves to everybody; that's why newjack swing sounded the same - it was. Mike had almost none of that on his work back then. All the songs were "space age" like Mike usually does. Ghosts and 2 Bad were excellent, I thought.

lol.....but ur showing some from another seller

The one i pictured looks safe ( sealed , official obi , sony label )
But heck ... who knows ..... i've read on another prince-forum that you can rekcnize the faykes by the printed lettering in the middle of the actual cd .
Maybe sellers should print a photo of that with the auction .
How secure must it get ? shrug

If you really wanna be shure to find an official digital video ,
then search for this Laserdisc :
Great + no compressed soundquality . Besides that it's a too-technical , expensive & complicated process to make an exact copy of...the format is like a 12inch format , so an upsized dvd :

I love it! it´s fantastic piece! and that DANCING! UNBELIEVABLE!! Also let´s not forget to praise Mike as an actor. His mayor performance was breathtaking. One would never believe it was him. I think he gave a better acting performance than for example Arnold Schwarzenegger in his whole life. thumbs up!

it's pretty obvious and lame if you ask me. he's trying to make a huge video event, but it's just pretty boring. horrible attempt at trying to recreate past success ("Thriller"). it's too slick, too long... without the special effects, there's nothing there. that doesn't make for a good movie, and it doesn't make for a good mini-movie video either.

I dont remember much of it, havnt seen it in ages. I actually like the grunting shit he does, goes with the choreography. How cool was the dancing? smile Best song on it is "Is it scary" i prefer that then ghosts and 2 bad One. One thing i dont like about it was the actors, it was pretty crap makes me cringe, some bits they overreact. Mikes acting ability is good but its even better in the bad video, the long version if anyone has seen it. In my opinion the ghosts video is good but not the best.

You can download the premiere to ghosts here

Got to agree the dancing is among the best he has done though?

nah, I remember it pretty well. it's a pretty video to look at, but it all adds up to pretty much nothing.

Tessa obviously has a bad memory, or hasnt bothered watching it in ages and has forgotten, because the dancing was not same old same old. it was the first time in ages michael came up with new choreography, of course some times he did his little moves he always does, but the overall choreography was very different and he did lots of moves ive never seen before.

when i was about to see this movie for the first time, i had huge doubts thinking like tessa it would be same old moves. but when i saw it i was very pleasantly suprised. although i think the actual story is ok and the acting pretty ok too, i just love the feeling of the movie. i just love the dancing and the songs and the costumes and the settings, i love how dark it is. also i love the darkness of blood on the dancefloor, which makes it up there (the 5 new songs anyway) as my favourite michael jackson album with history. although everyone wants michael to go back to making records all fluffy and sweet like thriller and off the wall, i want him to go on and make records as dark as blood on the dancefloor. i just love it.

No it isnt the same old same old, when all his videos had different choreography and settings. Yes he has his trademark moves but barely. The makeup and costumes was awesome. The dancing is one of the best too, especially when there dancing and then the cool lighting effects start flicking.

I remember hearing Michael wanted to work with Tim Burton at one point in time. Imagine, if he had directed it or been a part of it! I will say "Ghosts" does have kind of a Tim Burton/Dark/Gothic feel to it.

But just imagine if the man himself had directed it..wow.. wink

The choreography was good but I hated when they rewound the film backward and forward to achieve some of the effects. Watching it after the hype it's far too long and way too much yelling.

I agree the video has too much screaming. Some of it is kind of fitting for the tone of the film, but I think it goes overboard in times.

However, I think when looking at "Ghosts" as a whole, you realize how amazing it is. Or at least I do. thumbs up!

This was the last thing I truly liked from the guy. Liked the songs, but the movie was cool as hell.
