love it, love it, love it! it sounds so much better on cd than on that shitty low bit leaked copy (though i'm not whinging because i was jamming for a couple weeks!).

can't wait to see the general public's reception to the cd. i'm thinking it will have to be well received!

I'm glad I waited to hear the album until today, because alot of work went into the EQ mix and filtering on the songs.

Random thoughts:

-My cd is one continuous mix and tracked roughly where the songs change.

-The worst thing about the album is the New York/dork sad/mad/glad rhymes on "I Love New York". I have to skip it.

-You guys said the album SAMPLED The Jacksons "Can You Feel It", Donna Summer "I Feel Love", and Madonna's own "Papa Don't Preach". no no no! These were not samples and in fact were not even melodic replays of those songs; The production merely hinted at those songs. Don't do that to me again. disbelief

-Having said that, isn't "Get Together" awesome?

-Anyone else gonna exercise to this album? It's all uptempo then ends with a cool down. lol

-The sticker says the album includes "Hung Up" "Sorry" & "Jump" so I assume those will be the next singles.

now i know you are mister hot dj and all but, yo, some of us don't know the technical difference between sample and hint. that said, i feel love is all over future lovers, sample or not! lol

glad you like it, though. and yeah, its a work out record and a sex record no doubt. take that shit to the gym to look good while you dance to it in the clubs before you go home and fuck to it with your man/woman/he-she. wink

My reaction can be summed up in one word: ecstatic

I've listened about 5 times now and I think this album is just what I need. I like every single one of the songs, and many I already love. I love how unified it is as a project.

Some quick hits:

"Hung Up" is a Madonna classic. The album version is even better than the wondrous single edit.

"Get Together" screams vintage Madonna all over it. The vibe and chorus reminds me of "Holiday" and "Into the Groove" in its message and feel.

"Sorry" has such a kickin' bass line and a great, instantly memorable melody that it will make for a great single.

The scorched synth bubble of "Future Lovers" gives me chills. love

"I Love New York" is very interesting musically, although the lyrics are trite. lol She's definitely paying homage here in a no-frills, light-hearted way. I like that.

"Let It Will Be" should be a single. Great hooks and wonderful synth strings.

"Forbidden Love" can't touch its 94 distant relative with the same name, but it's better than I thought.

"Jump" should be a single. It leaps out of the speakers.

"How High" has such a cool bass punch that it is one of my instant favorites. Reminds me of Kylie/Vive la Fête.

"Isaac" has some of the best lyrics on the album. Definitely not as trippy as I thought it would be. It fits well.

"Push" is sexxxxxy. horny

"Like It or Not" has a wonderful rhythm. It plods along methodically and assertively- a perfect musical backdrop for the lyrical message. This may be my favorite.

So far: star star star star star

Metacritic is a good place to get a summary of the reviews. So far it stands at a very respectable 76 after 7 reviews. I hope the critical acclaim keeps rolling in.

and i agree with Cinster. they aren't sampled just referenced, and the media just ran with it and didn't really think about it really, snice none of them got to keep a copy of the CD.

It's a lot more cohesive than I thought it would be, I thought it was going to be more electic like Gwen Stefani's "LAMB".
Get Together is the best track, better than Music and AL, still doesn't beat "Ray of light"

referencing, sampling, whats the difference? is saying somethings 'referenced' a way of not having to give credt to who she took from? she might of changed it slightly but you can still hear very clearly what she took from 'can you feel it' in 'sorry'. does she give any sort of credit to them at all?

i don't hear can you feel it in sorry. i've played the tracks back to back and just don't get it. and in references it's similar... but not the same things because there is more 4 notes or beat difference i think is the legal definition.

Some observations and opinions...

***"How High is the only song that I'm not too crazy about. It's kinda dull, and if she does one more song about celebrity culture,I'm gonna get pissed mad If she had replaced this mediocre song with a stronger jam,the album would be just perfect.

***What a difference a week makes.A few days ago,I said that "Forbidden Love" was dull. But now I love it!! This is the track that everyone says is Kraftwerk-inspired.Maybe I enjoy it so much more because I'm hearing it on the "official" CD,as opposed to the leaked copy, where the sound wasn't that great. In any case,I'm digging this track.ALOT.

***Before this CD came out,we heard all this talk about numerous samples, but I have to ask....where the hell are they?? ***Unlike the other songs,"Push" has an R&B feel to it,which is why I think it would be a good choice for a single here in the U.S.

When I first heard this album a few weeks ago when it leaked,I knew that YOU would love it.Your all-time favorite Madonna song is "Burnin Up" and several of the songs on this new CD have that same feel.....retro,80s-sounding New Wave pop.I predicted that this would probably become your favorite Madonna album.

I love the breakdown part in "Get Together",when the beat slows down and she says "It's all an illusion....there is so much confusion....I can make you feel better....if it's bitter at the start, then it's sweeter in the end".....man,this part drives me crazy!!!

btw,the "Hung Up" video is NUMBER TWO on TRL!! I'm shocked, since it's usually only the rappers and teen acts that do so well on that show.

GET TOGETHER had me funkin them dishes up in the backroom today at work dancing jig party

Push dancing jig rainbow

and Jump are the best trax.

I think the album fits more for the British mold...It is a spacey album and I know that internationally it probably will be praised, but it is missing that U.S. dance flavor in it too..only hinting that in "Push", and combining some molds of 80's Madonna in "Get Together".
Otherwise it is a very nice album. I wasnt crazy about it and it didnt change my life or nothin' but it's coo. MUCH MUCH MUCH better than American Life nod
7.0 of 10

Album plays and love for vinyl records.

It's a good song, catchy and fast....very early-80s sounding...Madonna should have placed this song on the album instead of "How High".
