Now THAT's an Album

I think that one's overrated too. I love a lot of individual songs, but as a whole I think it's lacking compared to Black Celebration.

Totally agree.

Hmm, I love the Pump Mix of PJ, but otherwise to me it's one of the least interesting songs on Violator.

Oops, am I in trouble now? eek

I think it's strange that people don't like this song. It's the first time they really integrated real instruments into their music, and I think the results were fantastic. It's what brought them out of the 80's and made them still relevant in the 90's. The other 2 biggest songs from that album, "Enjoy the Silence" and "Policy of Truth" feature the guitar prominently as well. I think it was a great addition to their already wonderful sound.

I loved it when it first hit, but radio ran it into the ground. I just got burned out on it.

It also is kinda odd on Violator. It's not that it doesn't fit with the themes of that album, but its placement has always bugged me. I really can't put my finger on what it is, but it just seems like it doesn't belong on that spot on the album,. I really don't have a better suggestion for where it should go, but it just seems like it's in the wrong spot.

Overrated? I really don't consider anything from Some great reward to Violator over/under rated. They were all too popular. Some might even say that Black Celebration is over rated as it plays off of SGR successes not as successfully.
