I wonder how Madonna and Stuart Price/Les Rythmes Digitales/Jacques Lu Cont
went about it.I love the fact how often the album blatantly 'borrows' from disco heydays. Future Lovers is built on the synth-groove of I Love To Love You by Donna Summer and that is only ONE nod to disco past

lol,"Future Lovers" is actually based on Donna Summer's 1977 hit "I Feel Love"..

LoL
of course, of course.

i am proud of myself. Despite finding all the links, the bittorrents, despite having plenty of time on my hands, i have managed to stop myself from downloading. I've been hovering around the MTV Leak sight all morning, but i think im going to manage to hold out for one more week. Just one more week of listening to Hung Up and watching the documentary.

I feel like i have to do this, to regain that magic i remember about buying albums when i was younger, having anticipated the release date for weeks / months, hearing next to no news except hearing the single and seeing the video. I remember a time when I would buy an album without even knowing the tracklisting, without any of the privalaged information we get from fansights now.

I remember the excitement I felt in 1994 when i bought The Face magazine with Madonna on the cover, and it gave a release date for a single and an album, it was like a couple of months away, but the excitement of this kept me buzzing for weeks. I remember the monday night after school back in 1992 that I begged my mum for £12 to buy Erotica on its release, getting it home and listening in fascination. Its totally different now. I just hope i have the will power to hold out one more week.

Many people think that "Hung Up" is the weakest track. So if you like that song, you'll LOVE the other songs.

Thats great to hear. I value the opinion of madonna fans on this site so much more than on the slightly crazy madonna fan sites. its so fucking hard to get an objective unbiased opinion on some of those sites....there are sycophants ever where.

I'm enjoying the album so far. Some fun stuff on here, and I like that it has a consistent sound throughout, it's not trying to be some buffet of different types of music like Prince's Symbol album.

There's 3 tracks that I really wish would have been left off, or at least worked on more. I Love New York has awful lyrics. Not fun cheeky awful, just plain awful. It's hard to listen to because her comments are so stupid and simple-minded. Isaac is goofy and could have been left off. Push sounds really trite IMO.

I do like the lush dense sound, and echoing vocals. The album has a really warm feel to it. Was Mirwais even involved with this album?, because it (thankfully) doesn't have his sound at all.

You really need to play this on a good stereo to enjoy it, it doesn't sound the same on small speakers.

Mirwais co-wrote and co-produced "Future Lovers".I think it's one of the album's most interesting tracks,but it's a good thing that he wasn't heavily involved this time around.Stuart Price does a great job with the production,creating a lush,atmospheric sound throughout.It gives the album a cinematic,"dream sequence" feel.It's hard to explain,but y'all know what I mean,lol.

You don't like "Push",huh? I think it could be a single music

i just love the way she talks on a lot of tracks,
somehow it reminds me of Erotica a lot, all that
talk.

it sounds very sexy. the disc is getting better
with every listen.

i'm gonna buy the real thing once it hits stores,
eventho i didn't plan on doing so before i heard
the illegal downloads hehe.

so shut up whining madonna, bootlegging only gets
you more units sold if you make a decent album.

So I have started Day one of my Madonna Fast. So far so good. Thing is I really want to dance to this album, however i have to go to a gay club to do this. I have no idea where I would even go.

Then again there is a "Madonna" night at a local 80's monthly. However when they did Prince...they did a smattering...like played little red corvette and kiss. and that was about it. They say it not going to be all madonna but she will be in "heavy rotation" that night. But will it be 80's stuff...I wanna hear the 90's stuff too. pout I hope someone other than these guys will do a madonna night...I wanna hear her all night long.

Come on over to Berlin in Chicago on the 20th- All Madonna all night with a full run through the new disc!!! razz

While I was in SF last week I went into a store called Citizen on Castro and those f-er's were playing a Madonna song I had never heard before-- turns out it was Like it or Not DAMN them!!! I didn't want to hear anything from the new disc (aside from Hung Up obviously) until the 15th mad

Anyway- Still holding out-- but my damn mouse has hovered over the MTV leak for about the last 24 hours and I'm getting weaker by the minute neutral

Future Lovers surprised me. I thought the Donna Summer sample would be more obvious to me than it was but I could feel the vibe from I Feel Love throughtout the song. They did a great job with the sampling on the whole disc.

Ladies And Gentlemen! And Flaboyant Gentlemen who post on this thread! Here is my final opinion on COADF:

IT'S F. Brilliant!

I never expected it to be such a great album. It flow like a river and it's almost impossible not to tap your feet or shake your ass to it!

Everybody I showed it to, has loved it! Even the nerd and rhytmless people's that I know went bananas for it!

Also I would love to add that it's not a kylie-esque album (I'm a K-junkie and know when I see a Kylie imitator) and COAD has messages!

Now I can take my medicine! lol
