Just because she isn't the producer doesn't mean she's not involved in the creative process musically! She writes the words and sings the songs, but I don't think of her as a musician at all. She's a singer. She composed the music to those songs as well. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Listen, folks. Annie Lennox, if I remember correctly, did the whole soundtrack for Striptease, the awful awful Demi Moore/Ving Rhames picture. That's all I got to say.

I just looked it up and you're right, but the thing is, the soundtrack album doesn't reflect the songs played in the film. Everytime Demi Moore danced, she only danced to Annie Lennox. Therefore Erin's leitmotif is Annie. Just like that trumpet arrangement everytime Darth Vader shows up. Inextricably linked to that film, she is!!!!!

Perhaps the film is linked to her, but Annie Lennox is so much more than a soundtrack. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

She's still just a singer. A very good one, mind you. But a singer, nonetheless.

The way you said it sounds like you mean that Annie Lennox specifically composed/sang/produced music for the EXPRESS purpose of that movie. She didn't. Not one note. It was all music used from her back catalogue, mostly from her "Diva" album and a couple Eurythmics songs. It's not like she "scored" that movie and wrote songs to compliment the plot or dance sequences. They just used her shit. And the movie wasn't that bad IMHO. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

She's still just a singer. A very good one, mind you. But a singer, nonetheless. she's not a composer like tori or fiona, but as i remember she shares songwriting credit on several of her songs, right? I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

All you have to do is come up with words and you get a songwriting credit. I don't see her as being very involved with the process or performing.

All you have to do is come up with words and you get a songwriting credit. I don't see her as being very involved with the process or performing. Then you are ignoring facts from her biography! Annie composed that huge synth line in "Sweet Dreams" and the main structure of "Here Comes the Rain Again", the 2 biggest hits they've had in the US! Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! I'm not trying to offend anyone here. I've loved Annie for years and consider myself a pretty big fan. But I think there's a distinction between songwriting and musicianship. Very few artists can do what Tori does and I don't expect them to. I think she's on a much higher musical level than the others mentioned here.

Yes, Annie is the only one of these females that I like. Sheryl is OK though, I have her Hits CD. I'll vote for "Diva", a classic by Annie Lennox.
