Gene McDaniels' "Headless Heroes of the Apocalypse" While looking for CDs today, the shop owner gave me this album to overhear. Great stuff! Would have picked it right up but I had no money. Just wanted to show how old-school I can be! Can any of you true old-school funkateers comment on that one? I got these though: Does anyone know this sampler? Absolutely fantastic. The joy of buying music! [Edited 10/22/05 11:50am]

I know and I will. But the money's running through my hands like sand because I got so many new CDs recently. And the others I got aren't bad either!

yeah I know how it is.
I just got that Gil Scott myself. Still have only heard Headless Heroes on mp3 though... I never see it. The vinyl is famously rare because the political content caused it to be banned back in the day.

The Lord is Back, Jagger the Dagger (Tribe sample), and The Parasite are undisputed classics. Supermarket Blues is a personal favorite as well: Strolled up to the counter Slammed my hand down on the cashier Said, "'Xcuse me please But you see I bought this can of pineapple the other day And when I got home It was a can of peas GODDAMN!!!!!" Eugene is my shit. He penned some of Roberta Flack's most classic stuff.
