Arctic Monkeys - best new band Last night I saw Arctic Monkeys live and I have to admit, all the hype is true - they really are the best rock n roll band on the planet already. They are going to be huge. And I'm a world-weary 30-year old.

Sorry, I am completely underwhelmed by them. Looks like they'll be in the Top 3 in the UK singles charts this Sunday though.

Buzzsaw rock'n' roll punk with sharp, sarcy yet simple lyrics. Amazing live. Looks like they're number 1 with their first proper single [although iTunes still has their rare self-released "5 Minutes With Arctic Monkeys" for a mere £1.49 which is a damn site less than what you'd pay for the bugger on ebay! I made an "Arctic Monkeys" Thread early last year with links and bright colours and capital letters and bold text and lewd nude pics, the lot! Asked folks to check out this bright new band with refreshingly brilliant lyrics and it got ZERO REPLIES I hate you all p.s. Arctic Monkeys..... Northern class "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."

Ok I just checked out the video link and here's what ran through my head while watching....
They look to be about 16 and very nerdy. The lead singer couldn't possibly get his guitar up any higher, could he? As for the music, Average. Nothing special about that particular song or their playing. Just not my thing I guess. They sound like tons of other bands that I hear but can never place. But that's just my opinion after seeing/hearing that one clip. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

I actually forgot to tell you I seen them Live. For the first two songs they were brilliant, then good, then brillaint for the last two songs. They managed this whilst the lead singer was out of his face on whatever They had one shit song, one about Vampires or something. “If I can shoot rabbits/then I can shoot fascists”

Oh I remember a song about social vampires or summat when I saw them on Monday and it was my favourite - their more experimental one where they get onto a kind of early Can-style groove. Suprised me and moved my eyebrows even further up my forehead.... "You know, you're the classic example of the inverse ratio between the size of the mouth and the size of the brain"
