Metropolis I love Moroders work on this 1984 gem. Freddie Mercury's "love kills" is the best song he has written/sung. Great film bytheway too. Though i have only seen the 80's soundtrack version, with its industtial production, it fits the visuals well. 1. Love Kills (04:29) Freddie Mercury 2. Here's My Heart (04:54) Pat Benatar 3. Cage of Freedom (04:04) Jon Anderson 4. Blood From a Stone (03:37) Cycle V 5. The Legend of Babel (03:55) Giorgio Moroder 6. Here She Comes (03:48) Bonnie Tyler 7. Destruction (04:09) Loverboy 8. On Your Own (04:09) Billy Squier 9. What's Going On (03:49) Adam Ant 10. Machines (04:11) Giorgio Moroder Other highlights are the instrumentals (and "blood from a stone") and the loverboy song "destruction". Pat benatar's "here's my heart" is very strong too. I don't own any billy squier or heard any of his music, but "on your own" is a great song. [Edited 10/18/05 17:38pm]

I just bought this second-hand yesterday. Haven't listened to it yet though. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

I only know "Here She Comes" by Bonnie Tyler. it's great. "I don't need your forgiveness, cos I've been saved by Jesus, so fuck you."

i hooked up my stereo to the vcr and dubbed my own soundtrack to 'metropolis' which may not be as well-edited, but i far prefer the choices.

i love the original metropolis but that 80's remake with the awful soundtrack should have never happened. its a classic film and the music not only adds nothing, it takes away from the film's message. its really a distraction.

Oddly my dad doesn't mind the soundtrack (he generally does not like synths in anything), but my dad is pretty open minded. I cant see myself being half as openminded or varied music taste wise when iam in my 50's.

The Kino print is really good, alot of the movie was restored from the print they found. I would love to have that job; looking for old footage in basements and cellars in Europe or south America, or wherever they miraculously find these prints.Kino is probably the one of the best in restorations.
