Depeche Mode- Playing the Angel: I've been adoring this. I'm a big fan of Depeche and this is their best album since Violator and a contender for top 3 albums of theirs. Very nice!



Wolf Parade- Apologies to the Queen Mary: I picked this up and like it quite a bit. I like the blend of synths and guitars. They've got a really good sense of rhythm.



Roxy Music- Stranded: Classic 1973 album is more polished than their first 2 releases but delivers eight great songs!



Annie- Anniemal: What haven't I said about this album already? It's quickly becoming one of my favorites of all time.



Vive la Fête- Grand Prix: This is not as rough around the edges as Nuit Blanche, but it still delivers that deliciously quirky synth pop.

Just brought it today, and it sounds like it was recorded in 1974



Had 2 go back a little, but it's all good when it's Jan!



That second track, "Swim" is a kickass groove, but it really scares me when she says ""Children killing chil-dren while the... students ra-ape their tea-chers... comets fly-in' a-cross the, sky, while-the churches, bu-urn their prea-chers... "

I like Chris's disk too. I am pretty amazed at his pics as they sound like songs influenced by PSB ...not the other way around. He could have dropped the I was born this way song though.

Though Neil's disk is where it's at...really good stuff. I was very disheartened that they were not going to do any vinyl presses for this realease. It's the only one...due to the length of each disc...they would have to do a 4 disk Vinyl record not that there is anything wrong with that. I mean it was No 20 for the BTM series as well as 20 Years in PSB history...I think that deserves 4 pieces of Vinyl...seeing as most of this music is VERY HARD to get on Vinyl, one would think that they could have done a special edition and mark it up as such.

Similarly, I've always thought that Bug was slightly less thrilling than You're Living All Over Me, but Freak Scene and They Always Come always get my adrenaline going...

I was really disappointed with the new Foo Fighters album. In fact since Pat Smear left they've not been the same, ditto for the original drummer. I absolutely loved the first two albums but thought the two that followed were really really poor. In Your Honour is an improvement but it should no way have been a double, especially in the format it's in. You're either battered by rock or bored by way too many bland accoustic tracks. Should've been a 13/14 track single album. All respect to Dave but his band aren't versatile or talented enough to pull of the "classic" double album trick.
