That list reminds me of a various artists K-Tel compilation my family played the hell out of called Raiders Of The Pop Charts. Some of my earlist memories, and songs I heard so early-on that they are in my DNA.

"... signed as a solo artist to Mercury Records winning critical acclaim for his three self-penned albums, though he is probably best known for his top 40 and MTV hit single "Salt in My Tears". Since then Martin has become one of the most prominent writers in America, he has received orchestral commissions, and has written songs for such artists as Celine Dion, *NSYNC, Dream, Michael Bolton, Kenny Loggins, Pat Benatar, Jessica Andrews, 5-Star, Jeff Healey, Rebecca St. James, Nana Mouskouri, Willy Nile, Gregg Allman and Barry Manilow, to name a few. I know a ton of songs from 1983 but you are making it too hard by limiting them to June. I know my jams but I sure can't remember what month most of them were released in. lol

1983 was a fantastic year for pop music. It's my favorite "music" year of the 80s.We once had a thread about 1983 and somebody posted a list of the Top 100 songs from that year.Nearly every song is a classic.

lol Yeah , I know. XM satellite radio is in the middle of playing the history of Pop Music from 1940-1999. Playing every song that Hit the Top 40 in chronilogical order. They are in the 80's . I in thought it would be cool if I took a selected month from their playlist and posted it here and open it up for discussion. Yes, there are so many good songs from this time. By all means if there is a song from this time thats not on this list that you want to bring up , go for it . wink

http://www.xmradio.com/pr...ng/it.html
(old link from when they did this last year , but playlists are still the same)

Damn, you're going to make me go out and get satellite radio. I had assumed it was strictly current music or either a bunch of acid techno that I've never heard of.
