recently i found mp3s of bad tour copncert from tokyo.
i was suprised because it was all real music.
no playback no lypsynching.
realy good musicians grooving with michael singing his and jacksons hits.
it resembles more jacksons show then michael jackson.
i mean tours after bad were all aful playback tours.

the first leg {japan/austrailian 1987} of the tour was the last tour of FULL singing.
when he returned to the tour in 1988 the newer songs from bad, most of them were lipsynched.

in 1992 he had throat surgery, i dont really know what for, and about 60-75 percent of shows has been lipsynched since then.

i dont know if he does it for medical reasons or not. but knowing mike he never tells anyone anything. he just let people say what they want

but performing live night after night for 30-40 years , i think he doesn't really need to prove anything anymore to anyone.just be happy if he decides to do anything ever again. thats my philosopy.

p.s. the fans are singing apetitons to get that bad 1988 tour to be released on dvd

i said MOST and what i ment was a few i guess. i know MITM was lipsynched...as far as the others i cant really remember

The bad tour was all live, he only mimed partially on man in the mirror on some concerts.

The dangerous tour was about 75% live and even in the lip-sync songs he managed to sing part of it, e.g. Heal the World, which was lip-sync for obvious reasons.

The History tour was a joke!

yeh im sick of people saying that bad was the last tour he sung live at and that the dangerous concert was all mimed when most of it was sung live

WELLLLL maybe its because Madonna is in those groups of singers who AREN'T really "singers". Mike on the other hand already is known for his vocals. so he really doesn't have to prove anything anymore.

On the other hand- people dont really have nothing to talk about with madonna but her voice- with mj, they gott a whole buncha other stuff to discuss.....

Dont get me wrong i got love for madonna. but with mike he gets this "pass" that alot of legends seem to get. madonna may be a legend, but certainly not on mj's wave length, but thats not what this thread is about.

in case you misinterpreted what I SAID. i was saying basically that michaels personal life overshadows his work, and that is not the case with madonna, so people still may critize her voice and all of that.

I'm not sure but I think a lot of his set for his MSG gig in 2001 was lip synched also.

I think some of the stuff with his brothers live was live but I'm pretty sure most of his solo stuff except "You Rock My World" was lip synched.

It looked like one heck of a show.

As for the Bad Tour..yeah it was Michael's best tour (imo.) I didn't go but I wish I could have.

As for the Dangerous tour..best dancing and alright singing..not bad by anyone's standards except by the standards that the Bad tour set.

HIStory tour..I have mixed feelings..I think Michael was doing it for the fans but I don't think his heart was TOTALLY in it because as most of you pointed out, most of it was lip synched. But any time you get the chance to see Michael live..lip synching or not..it is a treat.
