Fuck she's annoying! Somehow it's considered OK because she's defending John Lennon, but I doubt John would have continued to be as cunty in old age.

Mr. Hyde's Gone (Don't Be Afraid) by John Lennon
Don't be afraid, it's just the wind and light. Don't be afraid, this house is very strange. In the morning we'll be gone, don't be afraid. We'll watch the dawn till the sun comes up, drinking coffee from our favourite cup. Girl, you've been good to me so don't be afraid tonight. Don't be afraid, it's just the cats at play. Don't be afraid, they do it night and day, how very strange. They've gone by the morning so don't be afraid of me. We'll dream around till the dawn comes up, drinking coffee from our favourite cup. Girl, you've been good to me, don't be afraid tonight. Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, (scat sing) don't be afraid, Mr. Hyde, he's really gone away won't be back till next full moon so we can bill and spoon in June and croon, be-woon, be-woon, be can you stand it? I love Yoko but I also love Paul. Both Paul and John wrote some terrible songs but I think that musically (if not lyrically), Paul had the edge because he adapted. Wings' 'Coming Up' is just completely funky. I think the closest Lennon got to being funky was collaborating on Bowie's 'Fame' and I'm unsure how much input he had on that.

Yoko is a talentless hack whose only claim to fame is that she married someone with massive amounts of talent. Sure, John was a deeper songwriter (although, Paul wrote the best melodies), but that certainly doesn't merit her mud-slinging. She truly has no room to talk, as she can't sing or write songs to save her life. As another Orger once put it, her "music sounds like a cat in a blender".
Yoko really needs to go away. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

shut your mouth! i think this story is just the latest example of the media trying to demonize the "dragon lady". but the comment is true! paul has written some great songs post-beatles, but john's solo work was a lot deeper and more challenging. it IS easier to cover a song by paul. in a way, that's a testament to paul as a songwriter. in a way, it's a testament to john, too. "blast"? i don't think so. why is she saying it? why is she giving an opinion on Paul's songwriting talent at all, while accepting an award on John's behalf. this is a woman that has never done anything anyone ever cared about except marry John. if it wasn't for John and Paul, this woman would be caterwalling outside an apartment window while rummaging through dumpsters in an alley instead of doing it on record. i'm sick of this bitch. she's 72? thank god, she'll be dead soon. This stupid greedy twat doesn't deserve the beatles fortune and it's sickening that she has any say so whatsoever over the songs that Paul created. I hate this whore. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I love her. She's a cunt and a greedy whore. Shame on her for making Julian Lennon actually have to fight for what should rightfully be his as John's firstborn son. And shame on her for making Paul practically beg for what is rightfully his as a creator of that music. The beatles wouldn't have been the Beetles without John or Paul. She's greedy and powerhungry and you can respect her "art" if that's what you want to call it but respecting her as a person..... She doesn't deserve it. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

You've got to admit that she looks pretty damn good for her age. Actually, if she was 50, she'd look prety damn good for her age.
I wonder what she does to stay so young-looking?

I'm sure Paul McCartney & Julian Lennon feel the same way too. How old is yoko? Like 65. That's a pretty immature mentality to have when you're that old. If you're there to accept a reward on behalf of your late husband I think you praise him and not take a shot at someone else because of a petty fued which began who knows when. It takes away fron the moment.

Why don't you all read it again ? She's just comforting a pathetically insecure husband (a fact she doesn't hide).

Thank you! Anyway, how is her saying "You don't just rhyme June with spoon." automatically stating that Paul is a worse songwriter? Maybe she's inferring that (the majority of) Lennon's songs weren't as poppy as Paul's, but how is that a slur against Mc.Cartney?

It isn't. At least not in this context She's just explaining why people would prefer covering Paul's songs instead of John's

I wouldn't say that she was "blasting" Paul either, but her comments were certainly unnecessary. The genius that was The Beatles was a collaborative effort - they were all essential at that place and time and it produced magical results. Each is talented in their own right - no need to compare and contrast when two aren't even alive to comment about themselves.
Here's another clue for you all... the walrus was Paul. VOTE....EARLY

http://www.bbc.co.uk/live...ture.shtml I know I've linked to this before, but I just think it's completely and utterly funny! Woody Allen left his wife for his daughter and Roman Polanski desecrated a thirteen year old sexually. You can say they are both great filmmakers and still admit they are horrible fucked up people.
