Fave Chic song?

I love Chic.
But right now I'm mostly feeling "Strike Up the Band."

What's y'alls fave?

P.S. Is there a better Chic compilation than "Very Best of Chic" from 1991?
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

Funky ass hell

I have both Chic comps from 91 and they are both good, in 2000 they put out another Chic comp which combined the best off both those 91 comps.

"My Feet Keep Dancing" is a great and unique song but the majority of their work was GREAT, not just good!

Are you talking about the new release they did that year called "Chic Mystique"? That was a good album.

Classic Chic is on par with itself and there are way too many favs to mention. BUT, I have to say, "Your Love" was very hot from their comeback disc, like 15 (!) years ago. It really brought their sound into that particular music period, was very upbeat, and definitely made my world go round!!!!

I hope they can eventually carry on as a band. It sucks that just when they were making a new chapter, one of the crucial bandmembers died.

My all-time favorite disco-house tracks use Chic loops.

Modjo "Lady (Hear Me Tonite)" - uses "Soup For One"
Nerios Dubwork meets Darryl Pandy "Sunshine And Happiness" - uses "My Forbidden Lover"

No I'm talking about the Two part greatest hits that came out in 91. The first one had nothing but hits and the second one had the rest of the hits and album cuts.

"I Want Your Love" is my favorite. It manages to funk it up while projecting an air of melancholy yearning- quite the feat!

"At Last I'm Free"....

.....but to be honest I'm not 100% sure on the title eek . I saw Nile Rogers and Chic at the Montreaux Jazz Festival when my hubby played it last year, and they TORE THAT SONG UP! You know, at a CHIC concert you generally spend the whole time shaking your moneymaker all over the place, but when they slowed down the set for this slow jam it was NOTHING LESS THAN HEAVEN! They were so chill, and their harmonies were SO TIGHT....it sounded like 2 tokes off a spliff in front of the fire on a rainy night with the one you love.....um e, uh, not that I would know anything about that last part eek.... !

lol

It's supposed to be a collection of previously unreleased Chic songs from the vaults, including re-worked tracks from never-released albums by Fonzi Thornton and Johhny Mathis.Normally, this would be a cause for celebration among Chic fans, but there is a little drama going on in the Chic camp.Nile Rodgers recently sued the original female members (Norma Jean Wright,Luci Martin and Alfa Anderson),claiming they are touring under the "Chic" name.In reality, they have played a few select dates under the name "First Ladies of Chic" (which sounds reasonable to me),but the judge ruled in Niles favor.

That song is a masterpiece. It's Chic at their absolute best music

some trivia about this song...it was originally recorded by Sister Sledge for their 'We Are Family' album. But Niles and Rodgers decided to reclaim it for the next Chic album. They gave Sister Sledge "He's The Greatest Dancer" as a replacement. If you listen closely to "I Want Your Love",you can still hear Sister Sledge singing on the chorus.

My favorite has always been "Savoir Faire" it's a great showcase for Nile Rodger's Jazzy side, he gets to stretch out!
