Essential oils are important. I bet he didn't have to moisturize much.

Pharrell's next video, "Can I Have It Like That," has so much action in it — thanks to helicopters, Learjets, boat races, fireballs and naked women — that it's supposed to look more like a movie trailer than a video. And that movie would be a spy film.

Shot over the weekend with director Paul Hunter and guest star Gwen Stefani, the concept behind the clip is that not only are we watching Pharrell, but so is some secret organization — the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, who knows? The group is tapping his phones, taking shots of him with telephoto lenses and recording Pharrell with voice satellite discs so that the video actually becomes part of the organization's surveillance of him.

The camera angles add to the paranoia, according to the treatment, always moving left to right, or circling as someone walks by. Throughout this, Pharrell acts as if he knows someone's watching — but he doesn't care. He talks on his cell to a mysterious woman, but doesn't hide his conversation (she's later revealed as Stefani).

While he's not exactly trying to outrun them, they're in hot pursuit everywhere he goes, whether it be an exclusive boat party with his bodyguards in tow or to an even more exclusive party in his penthouse, where naked women painted like exotic animals step out of wallpaper matching their patterns. No matter — he eventually makes his escape, with a helicopter taking him away.

The song will be included on Pharrell's solo debut, In My Mind, which is slated for release on November 15.

Perhaps only Pharrell Williams -- half of the most sought-after production team in pop music, the Neptunes -- could get Gwen Stefani to guest on a song where her entire contribution is five spoken words repeated ad nauseam: "You got it like that."
Stefani answers Williams' titular question on "Can I Have It Like That," the first single from Williams' In My Mind, due November 15th. The solo debut from the red-hot producer -- and guest vocalist on hip-hop singles from here to Tuesday -- also features guest spots from rap mogul Jay-Z ("Young Girl"), Houston breakout Slim Thug ("Keep It Playa") and Puerto Rican reggaeton star Daddy Yankee ("Mamasita").

The disc is divided into two halves and two moods: seven tracks of club-banging hip-hop, seven of smooth R&B grooves. "You have the personality with your girl, and you have your macho mannerisms," Williams says. "You got all these characteristics that make up your personality." While the single, he adds, shows his "macho side," the track "She's an Angel" gets sensitive. "It's discussing with your mom that you really like a girl and you want to know what she thinks about the scenario. As a man, I shouldn't be afraid to express having a great relationship with my mother. There's something really exposing about that. I'm letting people into a part of my mind that I don't ever really let out."

But watch out for the CD's hip-hop half. "This is something that I just wanted to smash the radio and smash the television with," says Williams. "My music is a stimulant."

Pharrell Williams has claimed that despite his worldwide success with NERD and The Neptunes, he can't sing.

The star, who has also worked with Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg and Kelis, has said that he can't rap either.

"I don't really think I can sing," he explained. "I don't really think I can rhyme. I'm just expressing myself."

Talking to Complex magazine, Pharrell said: "I'm just saying whatever comes out of my mind, whatever comes out of my mouth. It's more like a diary. I'm at another point of my life where I'm trying to practice being non-judgmental and being pro-art."

Pharrell, who releases his solo single 'Can I Have It Like That' featuring Gwen Stefani on October 31, has also explained the meaning behind his debut solo record 'In My Mind'.

Denying that he is a sex symbol, Pharrell said: "That's not my character. I'm pretending that I'm sexy. It's all in my mind. That's why it was perfect for my album title. I figured I would do something a little more reflective of how I think, and the best thing was 'In My Mind' because in my mind I'm all these things - I'm good, I'm bad, I'm holy, I'm horny."

'In My Mind' hits the shops on November 15, and features seven hip-hop tracks and seven R&B songs. The second single to be lifted from the record will be 'Angel' on November 21.
