bjork knows how to use a choir because it's appropriate to the composition. most rock artists use choirs as a way of saying "look how soulful and spiritual we are..." barf and that REALLY fucking gets on my nerves. especially when they accompany it with a video of the band getting together with a big smiling church choir and layin' it down in the studio...can ya feel the magic? can ya? HUH?!?

sheesh. rolleyes

ANYway lol - yeah, big pet peeve.

That's hilarious.

You can't always get what you want...

that one doesn't bother me at all, but again, when i hear it, it sounds appropriate to the song.

How about the "Kids With Guns" on "Dirty Harry"?

I don't know any of the songs on Let's Dance apart from the singles
since I never bothered to buy the album (as everyone said it was an
utter crap album).

I did own "Black tie White noise" for a while, until someone threw
it out of a speeding car on a Luxemburg motorway (more about that on
a later date), and I do remember that "Jump They Say" was and still
is one of my fave songs of all time.

There is something about it that makes me turn evil, completely evil
inside.

BTWN, easily. the great, big, poppy songs from Let's Dance are better by far, but overall, BTWN is the better album.

I don't think any song from Let's Dance is as good as Jump They Say or The Wedding Song.

I could have Let's Dance fatigue, cuz I just don't get that excited about any of those songs anymore.

They're like his "Material Girl" and "Like a Virgin" - as played out as you can get.

It could be burnout, because I think it's a sterling album, regardless of its status as the album that sold Bowie's soul. Recently, I "rediscovered" the song 'Criminal World' - never really was that crazy about it before, but there's something about it that pushes some kind of nostalgia button (or SOMEthing) in me - just the general sound of that song makes me very happy.

That's definitely a keeper. The best of the non-singles.
