nope..i think in his new song he is trying to hard to be "down" with the industry...plus rapping with his religious attire on is not fashionable nor appealing to me...
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

But not so much in "Sister Act 2" even though sometimes I find that "If you want to be somebody..." song in my head and I have no idea what it is!

I saw the video and thought this be interesting...it wasn't.

And on a sort of related note, Kimora Lee gets on my damn nerves, dominating TV! Thank God that terrible show with the semi hot hostesses is off the air!

He's been working on an album for a few years now. He's taking him time, I'm sure, because his voice is Wrecked. did you see him on any of the Jam Master Jay tributes? He wasn't talking like that because he was overcome with emotion, that's really his voice now. The Run-Dmc Behind The Music played a brief clip of one of D's new songs "cadillac cars" ... it sounded tight as hell - on a good day, D flows like Scarface now, really mellow and laid back, and it suits him well. This album was supposed to come out last year finally, but it never did. I'm still waiting and hoping for it's release.

I don't like Run cuz all he does now is recycle his old lyrics - and his new lyrics are all bragging about his past success. it gets old really quick.

I would definitely get DMC's album if and when it comes out. He seems so cool and humble. As for the Rev, why does his bragging bother you? That's what all hip hoppers do. Talk about hot amazing they are.

because Kanye is only preaching Kanye. if you listen closely enough.

.....and what's wrong with what Rev says in his songs? I'm just trying to understand what people don't like about him because I think he rocks!

He has a song with Liberty X? Damn, they are still around? Meanwhile Hearsay lasted 3 seconds. Anyway, what is the song like? Don't you think Kid Rock is trying more to sound like Rev? He's been rapping that way forever and people like Fred Durst and Kid Rock bit off him.

I disagree. I love his new single. I don't think it's fair to dislike someone's music because they're not hip, cool or younger.

it's not that, the song is just freakin' wack is all. If Hammer came back out with an album rapping the same exact way he did when he recorded "Turn this mutha out" I wouln't like it neither. For one because it's hard to see him rap knowing that he is a respectable minister, and for two, times has changed and the music industry definitely has changed.

If you like the song, then good I hope you enjoy it...but that doesn't mean the rest of have to like it too....
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

because Kanye isn't a serious minister in the religious industry..Rev. Run is REALLY a minister...

I saw a bit of the video, my teenage daughter and her friends were watching it. I was all into it because hey, it was good to see Rev. Run doing his thing again but by the dumbfounded looks on their faces, I don't think it's gonna do well with the BET/MTV bunch.

What I do want to know is, does he bust a rap when he's preaching his sermons? lol

Of course your entitled to you own opinion. I didn't mean to come off preachy ( no pun intended biggrin ). I just love the song and wish more pople did as well. I love old skool rap and even the slower way they rapped back then, so i'm just thrilled that he's making a come back.

Rev Run is on the intro to P.M. Dawns album "F*cked Music".. which is not availible anywhere...

He is calling Be and there is a very down sounding answer on the answering machine, and Rev Run leaves a very positive message..

nice intro

Oh he jocks them big time. He has already said a few times that Lynard Skynard or however the hell you spell it is one of his biggest influences along with run dmc.

DMC does seem really cool. I like seeing him when he makes "I Love The 80s" type apperances.
