Favorite/Best Stones Album Now that I'm into them again, I thought I'd ask your opinion. I'm not familiar with their later albums but happened upon Steel Wheels and that rocks. What are your faves? I think they have a lot of gems which get buried in the pantheon of classic hits.

There really aren't a lot of Stones fans around here, are there?

Beggar's Banquet. Can't beat the classic Stones lineup.

Beggars Banquet is my favourite as it contains No Expectations and Jigsaw Puzzle and i think from first track to last it's just perfect. Exile is so overrated, i think people are honestly afraid to say it's not as good as it's reputation suggests. I'm also quite fond of Goats Head Soup, i just think it's really sleazy and Winter is a great ballad. The first side of Undercover is also excellent. Dirty Work is the only real stinker they made, there's not one track i like and it's so dated.

i am partial to Let it Bleed, Some Girls, Exile on Main Street, Beggar's Banquet, Sticky Fingers.... the usual suspects.
but i also have a soft spot for Steel Wheels, and the new album is excellent. Favorite song: undercover of the night. so wicked.

"England's Newest Hitmakers"
"12x5" "The Rolling Stones Now" "Beggar's Banquet" "Let it Bleed" "Sticky Fingers" "Exile on Main St" "Black & Blue" "Tattoo You" I'd better stop. We could be here for a while. Hell, I even love "Brides to Babylon." Laugh if you want, but there are some stone cold jams on that one. "Out of Control." "Saint of Me." "Thief in the Night." It's a jungle out there.

My all time favorite is Gimme Shelter - I grew up on THAT. But there's 4 others that rock my face:
- Some Girls (HELL YEAH) - Made In the Shade, (the BEST 70's-era compilation I think) - Tatoo You (so much ego up on that) - Talk Is Cheap (KEITH RICHARDS solo record that blows away so many Stones wreckas) I'm just not a fan of Brian Jones-era stones. I mean, they're classics, you can't hate "Satisfaction" or "Under My Thumb", but the damn GROOVE from Taylor and Wood's addition to the band just makes things to wicked hot. www.beaurocks.com Trees are made of WOOD!

HUGE Stones fan here. I have all of their albums. Can't say what is their best, but I can say what is my favorite. Ran a thread about the album on here awhile back; "Black and Blue". SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him." http://ccoshea19.googlepa...ssanctuary http://ccoshea19.googlepages.com

Sticky Fingers is my favorite Stones album. Any album that has "Bitch", "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'", "Wild Horses", and "Dead Flowers" on it just can't be beaten.
My #2 is probably Some Girls... I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

I'm so happy to discover them at all. You know, I was huge fan as a teen (long ago). I think they were the first band I ever obsessed over. I remember having a picture of Mick in my locker at school. Then I drifted far away. When I saw them live last week, it was like a homecoming. As soon as I heard that thumping and grinding, I knew I was back.
