1981: Prince- Controversy
1982: Prince- 1999 (The best album ever!)
1983: Eurythmics- Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)
1984: Eurythmics- 1984: For the Love of Big Brother
1985: The Cure- The Head on the Door
1986: Prince- Parade
1987: Prince- Sign o' the Times
1988: Prince- Lovesexy
1989: Janet Jackson- Rhythm Nation 1814

Not a bad list. I agree with 1999 being that best of 82. And that's saying something because 1982 was just sick!

Guns 'N Roses-Appetite For Destruction (1987)
Def Leppard-Hysteria (1987) (admit it, you love it!)

I love that album. Its one of my favs.

Cheesy, but it can rock. Commercial rock rules. That album musta cost a bomb to make at the time.

i love EVERY SINGLE SONG on that album. "my man" is good. i like that sound in the song that sounds like a washing machine or something, that sloshy sloshy drum program thing. that's cool.

the keyboards are surprisenly warm sounding for a Prince song. Sounds like soemthing robbie nevil would use? I see what u mean with the washing machine. Infact, that also reminds me of the blade runner score (vangelis?)

Yeah, as much as I liked that album, I think there were better releases that year: London Calling, Dirty Mind, Get Happy, The Pretenders The Specials, Sound Affects, and so forth.
