ever since my ipod took over my listening habits, my CD projects have pretty much dried up. I feel a good mixed CD coming on, though...

I still gotta finish my 80's, 90's and 00's Bowie Best Of. So I should post it here. You ever make art for yours?

Just gorgeous Gangsta ~ one day you need to give her copies of each. And, you know, the Both Sides Now is especially great!

Ya know, I really REALLY wanted to show her MY Beekeeper at one of the meet n greets, but it just didn't work out. For some reason I'm afraid it would piss her off though. I'm sure I'm way wrong, but I'm just so conditioned by Princey-poo to be afraid of that sort of thing.

gangsta, that cd cover looks better than tori's "professional" beekeeper cover! she should have called you first!

nod agreed! Gangsta, one day I must get my grubby paws on some of your CDs! Hell, I could go download this stuff, but you do such a FANTASTIC job on the artwork. Like Sassy said, its better than the artwork to Beekeeper, by far! worship You rock!!!

Thanks guys! touched

Nice work, GangstaFam! I'm doing something similar, but with all my Bowie live albums and boots - piecing together my favorite live tracks chronologically and mixing the audience noise together. I hope it turns out half as nicely as your Tori discs!

Okay, so I'm always working on some CD project. Either for myself or someone else, I'm always working out a tracklist, a theme, art, whatever in my head. It's fun for me. mr.green I've posted some of my results before, so I'm just gonna contain all of my recent stuff here.

As many of you probably know, I've been on a hardcore Tori kick this year. So I've been downloading lots of the live stuff from this tour. Well, I've started mixing discs, crossfading crowd noise and burning discs to have a document of at least 1 performance of each song from this tour. She's played over 200 already, so it's quite a feat. lol So anyway, here's the first one I came up with showcasing some stuff from the most recent shows I attended.

Here's the front:

Here's the back:

And here's the disc:

I'm liking so far.

Post and share the results of your recent goodies. biggrin

Congrats...U did a great job!

Thankies! Some I find, some I make. I just keep tweaking it until it just kinda locks into place. I can usually tell when it still needs something, or if I've gone too far. But most often, I have an idea of how I want it and it's just a matter of working it out. Can't wait to give you these!

Yeah, I'm always workin' on something. I've posted results for a few things before. I think the last project was my Bowie best of.

You obsess over projects too?

I think that's the one I remember seeing.

I don't obess over CD projects but I do obsess over other musical things.
Like exact chord voicings on guitar (if I have to learn/write a song), playing songs I like 10/20 times in a row for days on end, why certain arrangements work, how to improvise lines rather than play licks.

Weird stuff like that. lol

I can relate. Although I'm in a bit of a musical dry spell lately, so I've been freed of that curse, at least temporarily. lol

sigh

My CD burner has been acting up for the past 6-9 months. I dunno if it's the burner, the program, or the CDs I had on hand. But it seems that every 2nd or 3rd disc I try to burn comes out unreadable...

Because of that I haven't been moved to try and create anything for a long while. Of course I did my standard summer samplers for our bbq/party. But other than that, just THINKING about burning a CD raises my blood pressure.

FYI_ that last spindle of CDs I purchased were TDK. Does anyone have a favorite brand to use? I only have 2 of those left (FINALLY) and am hoping the problem may have lied with the CDs all along...

yea gangsta fam, i do that too. Currently I'm working on condensing the cure reissues to one disc each *there's a lot of crap on the second discs on each* and that made me decide to burn custom copies of all my cure albums, replacing album mixes with 12 inch versions, and adding some b-sides and bootleg tracks...

it's not as simple as it sounds when there's so much to choose from and a cd is only 79 mins long....

Yeah, computer and especially CD project problems are among my biggest pet peaves.

I've gotten so close to throwing my laptop across the room before. redface
