Your current CD projects!

Okay, so I'm always working on some CD project. Either for myself or someone else, I'm always working out a tracklist, a theme, art, whatever in my head. It's fun for me. mr.green I've posted some of my results before, so I'm just gonna contain all of my recent stuff here.

As many of you probably know, I've been on a hardcore Tori kick this year. So I've been downloading lots of the live stuff from this tour. Well, I've started mixing discs, crossfading crowd noise and burning discs to have a document of at least 1 performance of each song from this tour. She's played over 200 already, so it's quite a feat. lol So anyway, here's the first one I came up with showcasing some stuff from the most recent shows I attended.

Here's the front:

Here's the back:

And here's the disc:

I'm liking so far.

Post and share the results of your recent goodies. biggrin

that looks fabulous! i've been listening to Tori again after my
much publicised fall out with her

giggle

especially when she plays such cool covers and obscure songs of
her own I'm being remembered of how cool and strong she is. The
projects you post about regularly (like the Tori b-sides boxes)
are absolutely phenomenal.

i used to do boxes and discs like those too, well not as good
as you because i never got round to making any cool artwork.
but recently i've been so bussy with work and my private life
and studies that i simply don't get around to it anymore.

i haven't even read a book in over 3 weeks eek

although, i must admit, i'm already collecting tracks again on
my harddrive for a 2 disc Bjork compilation of personal favs,
some Tori Amos project similar to Venus, with one studio album
and one tour album from the Scarlet era.

and fcuz Prince 85/87 and 93/95 drool "anthology" style sets
but those are all just faint ideas at this time.

I'm working on a Bjork project too. woot! Gonna post it here soon.

I don't really remember your beef with Tori other than being disappointed with the show you went to. Did you just have listening fatigue? I get that too with everyone. But for some reason, she's just been carrying me through this year. I updated my b-sides set too with the newer stuff. Maybe I should include that as well.

I'd love to see the results of your Prince projects.

Hard to believe but I do make cd's for people.

Plus I got some people onto Jeremy jordans album. Even donny osmond! Now that was tough. Getting someone to hear a donny track was hard work, but he liked it. Its funny as people really have forgotten about this sorta newjack/pop. And woudl not dare buy it as the covers are so cheesy.

I do hip people to the sorta shit I always rant on about here. It does feel good. Only person on here I have sent music too was paisleypark4life. And as the tracklisting got lost, he cant tell me if he liked any of it or not. But I dony think he did. Which is fine.

yeah, i even had it with prince this year, well and a good deal of
last year too. didn't even get too excited about musicology and I
didn't care at all for the tour not coming this way.

but now that i've worked my way through tons of new music and been
away from prince's songs long enough, i'm discovering all of the
albums again, one by one and it's great

I have a different 'project' of my own...

I am cleaning 'house', MP3-wise.

I just chucked out like 10.000 songs, of course after I backed them up...

I am going to dowload SO much new stuff...

Purrrr.

I had that with Prince for years and years and years. From about '99 'til last year, I barely listened to the old stuff. Just rare things and whatever was the current project. But I've loved getting back into the old stuff lately. Now if only he'd accomodate me with some remasters.

Wow, Tori does a cover of Running up that Hill!? omfg

i'd love to hear that. nod

Anyways, i've recently and finally transfered all of my Vinyl Prince 12 inches to disc along with some associated artists material that never made it to CD (The Family, ect) Well, i haven't begun yet, but the name of the comp will be Saxy Sophistifunk and it's going to center around all of P's Mid eighties hardfunk tracks with sax. i've haven't written out a list, yet, but the tracks will flow something like:

And not in this order...

  • Mutiny

  • Feel U Up

  • 6 & a 1/2

  • Girls and Boys

  • We Can Fall

  • G-Spot

  • Wouldn't you love to love me?

  • Yes

  • Baby Doll House

  • Love or Money

  • Anotherlover (extended Version)

    Well, you get the idea.

    smile

Oh and what software do you use to make covers like that! question

True, just not limited by the 80 minute rule.

It is fun to track Björk's or Tori's b-sides in such a way they never get boring...

Joking aside, it's really cool that U do that 4 folks. It's rare that some1 of your age would remember any of that stuff, since it so clearly defines a time in music that was very short (as trends go). Many of the albums (like the 2 above and others U and I have talked about) r long out of print and difficult 4 any1 2 get hold of them who might want 2 hear them.

I use Fellowes Media Face. It's super easy and has lots of great functions to help you customize it to your liking.

I think you can download it for free. biggrin
