Stevie now slated for 9/27 ?? maybe not Some CD websites have Stevies New Cd slated to come out 9/27. But believe it when its in your hand. I spoke to a Rep at UNI the other day, basically about upcoming stuff for them and then I asked about Stevie and he said Stevie is not on the agenda for this year, basically Stevie is still not 100% on the album, its actually still not finalized, so I doubt the 9/27 is for real. As for the Rick James CD, the problem has been what Label will put it out, right now Sanctuary has the rights to it, but others are fighting it, so not really sure when that will hit either. As for Stevie I understand his delays, but he is really building people up for a Let down i think, at this point he probably should shelve the project and start over. fuck stevie. The guy's a genius, but at this point he's really going to need a flawless album to really impress people and show that the wait was worth it.
Look at Invincible by MJ. He was doing the same thing as Stevie by changing release dates for about two years, and while there are some brilliant trax on there, the fact that there's also some stinkers on the album proved to be a major let down to the music community. Had he put out the album quicker and cheaper, it might have gotten a bit more of a positive reception then it did. And dont even get me started on the new Axl Rose, I mean GNR, album. That's just a lost cause. The point I'm trying to make is that the more Stevie spends holding back the album from the streets, the more peoples expectations are going to increase, and eventually he's going to set himself up lock stock and barrel for a disappointment,

Stevie is my favorite artist of all-time,but how much more time does he need?! This situation is beyond ridiculous. They've already released TWO singles, and still there is no album!! I really think Stevie is putting himself under too much pressure, and the record label has unrealistic expectations as well.Stevie is clearly trying to make another 'SITKOL',but how can he (or any artist) top an album like that?

Not looking for a classic here.

I agree. The two singles ("So What The Fuss" and "From The Bottom Of My Heart") are great,so I don't see what the problem is.If the other songs are as good as these two tracks, then I say "bring it on!"
