Annie Lennox fans: alert!!

The new album "Possibilities" by jazz legend Herbie Hancock was released this week. It features collaborations with a number of different artists including Sting, Joss Stone, Paul Simon, Santana, John Mayer and Damien Rice.

But the high point is Annie Lennox's stunning performance of "Hush Hush Hush", a song about a young man with AIDS. It was written and originally performed by Paula Cole with Peter Gabriel. Annie's take on it is absolutely fantastic, and even after only a few listens I would rank it among the most powerful of her vocal performances.

I would highly recommend tracking down this album. It's mostly covers, and they are skillfully done, and sound very fresh and groovy. I just bought it at Borders this AM (mostly for the Annie Lennox track), but the entire record is TOP NOTCH.

cool

Thanks for the heads up!

I have Paula's "This Fire" CD which has that song, I have to go back and listen to it. I don't remember it.

Annie needs to do a greatest hits record and include all the gems that aren't on her LPs, then a new solo record, a Eurythmics boxset, and a tour with Dave that includes half Eurythmics and half of her own material.

WE NEED MORE ANNIE!!! She should be having a coming out party for her 50th year.

I missed her on tour with Sting...I didn't want to go and just sit through 8 or 9 Annie songs and have her 'opening' for someone else, it felt wrong. Plus I looked up her setlist online...most of the dates she only sang one or two songs from "Bare." Wonder why? "Wonderful" is the jam.
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

she actually isn't bad on it. i'm not a joss stone fan, but she does a nice job w/ johnny lang on the U2 song "when love comes to town."

I'm not a huge paula cole fan, but i LOVE the original version of Hush Hush Hush - very beautiful and sad song.
