I'm just sitting here watching him lip sync all the parts to his Closet saga and all I can think is....WHY????? Why did they ask and/or allow him to do this? That was the most horrible performance I've ever seen in the history of the VMA's (and I'm OLLLLD, LOL!!!)

In short, he SUCKS as a live "theatre" performer!!!! I think of the talent possessed by my life-long suffering friends in the ballet world , or even in dumb productions like Mama Mia, or Julie Taymor's Lion King, and to have to be subjected to R.Kelley playing ALL parts of his soap opera onstage----- it was nothing less than a TRAVESTY!!!!!

For all the trashing people do about girl groups like Destiny's Child, I've seen that someone like Michelle Williams can at least CARRY "ADIA" in New York...but Lawd H'ammercy if I had to see R. Kelley on a PLAYBILL????? Hell, I couldn't even take him on the bill of a traveling TYLER PERRY STAGE PLAY....

I think it might be time for old dude to wrap up his soap saga as well as any aspirations he has to "emote" onstage a la the theatre...I don't get to see MTV a lot, but, good grief haven't they sunk in terms of the quality of their award performances this year

Yor are an idiot . The R. Kelley performance was hot . And if that was the worst perfomance you ever saw on the VMA's then that must have been the only perfomance you have seen.

it would be interesting to see what other people say ... cus i think it sucked big time too ....

I agree it was a poor performance. R. Kelly had a stage and basically did nothing with it. He also could have worn a mike and done it live instead of just mouthing the words.

That performance was one of the worst. I could not watch it. Why was he performing anyway? Damn! He could not lip-sync to his own song right. That did look pretty bad from what i did see.

haha, he wouldve ran out of breath tryna sing. he was like a black richard simmons joggin around the stage. did u see that [@#$%& - Tom] running across the stage tryna play 3 characters? and the song, damn he just gave up on rhyming.
