I agree there is a difference between confidence and arrogance, but Kanye is clearly arrogant. He hasn't even been in the industry for 10 years yet i don't think, yet he acts like everybody owes him respect and gratitude just because he is a producer/rapper. Damon Dash felt like he had real talent as a rapper. Funny how that was so and Jay-Z felt like he was just average, yet Kanye went with Jay-Z during the split between him and Dame.

Plus Damon Dash is arrogant as hell too. Thats why him and Kanye use to get along so well...but since Kanye left him, I don't think Dame is liking Kanye very much now.

Now, the College Dropout album was my #1 favorite hip-hop/rap album of 2004. I mean, I played that whole album from beginning to end, even though it had some weak moments. The material he has done for John Legend is really impressive. I don't know what to expect from Late Registration because after listening to Diamonds From Sierra Leone, I really feel that he's going to experiment a little more with the production. I loved that joint he did with Jamie Foxx, Gold Digger. So, I guess I'm going to check it out on August 30th.

The guy has a positive message in his music, which is much needed these days. He may be arrogant in his day to day life, I don't know and could care less. But at least he has something positive to say and it's not all about murder money and sex.

I brought The College Dropout last year but I finally got to listen to it today on a road trip and I have to say, I liked it way more than I thought I would. I give him props on speaking on things other than shooting people up and fucking hoes but he samples too much. Other than that, I am interested in what Late Registration will sound like. I'm already liking Gold Digger.

I have a question. Usually if someone is usually claiming and running their mouth about how great they are, they would strive to be orginial. All Kanye is doing is what Puffy (Mostly the Hitman) did back in the late 90's. I haven't heard one song that was an original or wasn't a sample of some kind. Every hit song he has is a bite/stolen/borrowed/used with permission, whatever you want to call it. I laugh at his statment saying we won't be able to think about music without think of him. HA!!

Kayne will be a "Remember this artist/producer" thread here one day. The Producers that hold my respect and I can't imagine modern music without them are Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. I Love Kanye but I recently lost some respect for him.


I was watchin MTV and Sway was interviewing him about his ego problem, and he berated! The man said, "well if im gonna pay such and such amount of money to per4m on stage then I should get an award!!!"

Then he said about the Scource.."I wanna be the one with the most interesting conversation about me having five mics, we all be sitting around the table and I can say, well u know i have a classic five mics album" booo hooo bitch PLEASE!

Now I know Im probably gonna be one of the first to run and grab that album when it come out, but now I am going to be critical of him because he shown me that he was an ego maniac.
