Which KISS album should I listen to first?

After watching VH1's Ultimate Album special for Kiss' 1975 live recording, Alive, I began to appreciate their music a little more. I only knew one of their songs and that was Roll & Roll All Night. Shameful isn't it? But, I was wondering if anyone could recommend the first KISS album I should buy?

hmmmmm.... after much thought on this, i would have to say... in this order::

1. destroyer
2. love gun
3. rock and roll over

or....

if you want a good overview of the early years, try DOUBLE PLATINUM.

agree, or, just go for Alive, it is one of the best Live albums ever and captures the energy of their live show.

Do NOT get "music from "the Elder"" a horrible concept album that should be purged from the memory banks of everyone who's ever heard it.

Creatures of the Night, is a pretty good album considering it was made without the original line up. It was also the last album before the make-up came off.

finess is absolutely right (as usual). smile

there is a new (i think it's new) kiss essentials disc out there.... two disc set with a really good overview of the early years. it may be the 20th century masters series? can't remember. looked like another good place to start.
