Ashlee Simpson to perform on 'Oprah'
NEW YORK (AP) — Ashlee Simpson, who was busted for a Saturday Night Live lip-synch gone awry, will perform on The Oprah Winfrey Show this fall, says her manager-father, Joe Simpson.

Joe Simpson, Ashlee's manager/father, said an appearance on SNL would be pushed back and the singer would perform on Oprah instead.

Earlier in the week, Simpson had confirmed reports that Ashlee was in negotiations for a return to NBC's SNL, where she was caught using background vocals last October.

The 20-year-old singer's mishap was attributed to acid reflux disease.

"We are going to push SNL back because we are doing The Oprah Winfrey Show for one hour," Simpson told Access Hollywood on Wednesday. "('Oprah') is going to be the first interview and the first place where Ashlee sings."

Ashlee's new album, I Am Me, is set for release Oct. 18.

"We are working on the date" to appear on Oprah, her manager-father said, "but it's going to be right before the release of the record. It's in the second or first week of October."

An hour? God, Oprah's lost it too if she can dedicate a show to her for an hour. Good thing Oprah finally got cancelled in the UK years ago after floating around the channels until nobody wanted it.

Oprah's got issues! Would Ashlee be on her show if she didn't fuck up on SNL? She's basically a mix between Avril and Hilary Duff but not as talented/without the personality and looks, respectively (and to say that Avril is more talented than you...). She's not the worst thing ever, but what the fuck is she doing on Oprah! That's a damn shame.

Her flim debut (in a supporting role) only did like 650,000 at the box office....that's "Swept Away" money. You kind of have to fell for her since Jessica "gem" was a overhyped to the extreme and while it might not be a blockbuster, it will probably make money when it gets to Blockbuster (movies tend to make a lot of their money on video). She's probably saying to herself...."They really hate me"?
