My little brother introduced me to Queen and I was blown away. The band is always disregarded among the heavy weights when it comes to rock, but no front man was more charasmatic than Freddy. IMO

His vocals on Made In Heaven were haunting. If you saw VH1 Legends several years back, his story/Queen's history was pretty interesting. They had something on Bravo network a couple of years back (a biography) and gained alot of appreciation for him and the band. I was always more of a Stones/Bowie fan, but Queen rocks!

You guys picked too many easy ones. Sure, you may like them, but do you really think their voices are truly original? Here, I'll give you 5 more:

Some of my favorite voices...

Johnny Mathis
Nat King Cole
Ray Charles
Mahalia Jackson
Aretha Franklin

...When you hear the 1st few notes, you know exactly who they are.

There are quite a few others.

Miles

I'm no great fan of all these but the thread said 'most unique' voices, not 'my favourate singers' of all time.

Louis Armstrong
Nat King Cole
Jimmy Scott
Betty Carter
Martin Luther King Jr (Well, I think he sings...and what words)
