Grady harrell

Grady Harrell was born in Los Angelas and has been a professional vocalist since the age of nine, though he's never amassed many hits.Grady Harrell became friends with Jeffrey Daniel and Jody Watley, and was barely nosed out for a spot in Shalamar by Howard Hewett .Grady Harrell signed with Constellation/Solar in the mid-'80s, and Fred Wesley produced his first album Mwana. Andre Cleveland landed Harrell an RCA deal and he produced his second album called Come play with me in 1987 with the killer Fun and his third album Romance Me in 1990 with choons like Your Kiss, Patience and Boomerang. Neither garnered much attention.

He had a good voice. Shame his albums are average.

"sticks and stones" (1989) is an odd track. He sounds exactly like sam cooke in mannerisms, voice and the arrangement of the track. My dad thought it was him with a drum programme put over the top lol

Other highlight is the awesome "after all", written by nathan watts.

I remember this cat. Never heard his stuff, though. Used to get tons of promotion (ads and such) in Right On and Black Beat, which doesn't seem to have helped...

Didn't dig his music too much, though he was pretty energetic in his live performances.

Yeah he was an amzing dancer apparantly. I wanna see footage. I can see the old schoolers digging "sticks and stones" honestly.
