New Eurythmics Album in the Works? I just read this on Annie Lennox's official forum. I'm not sure if this is just a rumor, but I would ADORE a new Eurythmics album!
Stewart inks BMG Publishing deal 18 August 2005 - 16:13:06 Dave Stewart has inked a new deal with BMG Music Publishing ahead of new music from Eurythmics expected later this year. Stewart, who first signed to BMG with his Eurythmic colleague Annie Lennox in 1982, has signed what the publisher describes as a new “long-term” music publishing agreement. Stewart, whose writing outside Eurythmics includes songs for artists including Anastasia, Shakira, Gwen Stefani and t.A.T.u., is presently working with Lennox on new songs with releases planned for later in 2005. He is also completing an album with new act Platinum Weird through a joint venture label he runs through Jimmy Iovine’s Interscope label. BMG Music Publishing group managing director Paul Curran says, “The word unique is over-used, but in Dave’s case it is entirely appropriate. I am delighted to have renewed our deal with Dave and look forward to continuing to represent him.” Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

I guess this is good news. But I can never trust any Eurythmics/Annie Lennox news anymore. Just earlier this year, Annie was talking about not wanting to take a long break between albums and getting right back in the studio to do a new solo album. Shortly after the Peace promotion died down, there was talk of another Eurythmics album in the works that was more electronically based. And then there are the remasters. I mean, I'll be glad when something comes out. But I'll believe it when I see it. And in all honesty, at this point in her career, I think she's better off on her own.

All bitching aside, I was thrilled to finally see her live a few years back. Those shows right before "Bare" came out were thrilling.

She came to the Warner Theater, where I saw Tori this spring. The whole time i was there, I kept thinking: why did I skip Annie???? ugh. Regrets!

That's strange. They were so reasonable when I went. I don't think they were more than $50. Same with the Toronto show. :kick:

Bummer. And I'm sure seeing her open for Sting wouldn't have made it any better. I completely skipped that cuz it just seemed wrong.

My brother went to the Sting/Annie show with some friends, one of them who went because he was a big Sting fan. He knew very little about her. But he said by the end of the night, it felt that she was the reason he went. Maybe they should have alternated headlining.

A new Eurythmics album would be hot...IF they did an 80s throwback tongue-in-cheek, electronica record.
I like Peace but damn...it was somber and nothing inventive like their old shit. I dont think a new record from her would be all that...I don't want Bare II. If it was Medusa II, I'd take it. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

The singles on "Peace" where nice,,,,and then night, night cause you feel asleep. I was honestly hoping for new Annie or a hits set (but especially if it includes her deut with Al Green.

I respectfully disagree. I'm afraid their best days as a group are over.

This sounds like good news. But I too have to echo Gangsta on a few points...
I too don't trust anything that gets said. Bring out the reissues that were supposed to come out several times and yet have still been shelved...then we'll talk. And Peace, I thought was simply ok. Like the New order album Get Ready...it sorta left me bland. Not to mention We too are one wasn't the greatest IMO. SO maybe their best days are behind them as a group. Now my thing is I love her voice...yet aside from a few songs I have never liked her solo stuff that much. Too... I dunno mainstream for me. Nice songs and all...but not my cup of tea. That's fine for me. Though every time I go through a Eurythmics phase, I keep thinking that if they worked together or if He produced her album, I'd like the music more than I do her solo stuff. I guess it's best to wait and see. Christian Zombie Vampires
