It's about time! So 9/20 or 9/27.

They want to get it out before Grammy's eligibility cutoff date (10/1).

It's gone to mastering, I can't wait to hear it. Thanks for the link (even if it is Fox) we've all been waiting to long. Hopefully a tour will follow this fall.

Cool tidbit I didn't know about my favorite album and one of my favorite songs.

On Aug. 6, 1973, he was in a terrible car crash. It left him in a coma for two weeks. Subsequently, he wrote the album "Innervisions," which featured a song about his experience called "Higher Ground." Both the album and song were enormous hits critically and financially.

Unfortunately it's a little tidbit that's inaccurate. Innervisions was actually recorded BEFORE the accident but RELEASED after it. Higher Ground too was completed before Stevie got in the accident. Stevie's engineer Malcolm Cecil sung it in Stevie's ear while he was in the coma to see if he would react and stevie started moving his fingers to the beat, which was one of the first signs of his recovery.

Good story! Even better than claiming he wrote it while recovering from the crash.

I love his music, but I don't know his history at all. I really have to look for a good biography. Any recommendations?

Actually I'm not as well versed on his history as I'd like to be. There's a fairly good biography that I've heard of by John Swenson but I've never seen it anywhere.

I don't understand if it's that Enteratainment reporters just fuck with people, that they are lazy and don't check this stuff or that all news stories are like this and have exteremly lazy reporting in them. Or maybe it's just Fox!

Oh and by the way....it is the 1974 album 'Fulfillingness' First Finale' in which Stevie addresses his near-fatal car accident.Several of those songs, such as "They Won't Go When I Go",are reflective and personal.

This is a new book on Stevie Wonder, released a few months ago.I bought it several weeks ago,but I'm not finished reading it yet.It concentrates more on his music (particularly his classic 70s albums),but all of the major details of his life are discussed as well (including the car accident).Since it's not easy to find a good biography on Stevie, this book is a must-have.

More gems from Friedmen in the article. I love this guy!

But the actual release date of the album, Stevie's first since the 1995 classic "Conversation Peace," has been elusive.

Was "Conversation Peace" a classic?

Stevie also performed "So What the Fuss" from the new album. He sang a little of "If You Break My Heart," and joked, "It's my new single — please buy it so we can get Christmas gifts for the kids this year."

Swing and a miss...the new single is titled "From The Bottom Of My Heart". You know, the bottom, like where you should be ranked as a reporter?
