NEW YORK (AP) -- Mariah Carey and The Killers have joined the list of performers for the MTV Video Music Awards.

"We are working closely with Mariah and The Killers to present two of the most sensational show-stopping performances for this year's VMAs," MTV President Christina Norman said in a statement Tuesday.

The 2005 Video Music Awards show, hosted by Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, will air live from Miami on Aug. 28.


Previously announced performers include Kanye West, Green Day and Kelly Clarkson.

I cannot wait for this hot mess to air so we can all laugh our asses off in real time together like we did last year.

I hope Mariah does "Shake It Off".
