sometime when i have money to burn and i've hit a particularly rich vein of used CDs, i'll probably pick that stuff up. i don't have anything older than 'emperor tomato catsup', other than what's on the BBC discs.

I'm sure Reckless has tons.

I love it when Record Time near me has sales like that. Getting a used CD for like $4.50 makes me very happy. I get great deals on box sets that way too - i.e. the Tom Petty one for like $18.

well, i know there are a bunch of break-out bands where stereolab members go solo or collaborate with other musicians...i'm sure there are tons of projects i don't even know about. but there's a high llamas album called 'snowbug' that has letitia and mary on several of the tracks, and it's just an absolutely gorgeous album. in fact, it was the first high llamas album i'd ever heard, and for several years, i didn't want to hear any other albums by them, because i was afraid they wouldn't be as good (fortunately, they are).

5. Cabaret Voltaire - Methodology '74/'78: The Attic Tapes (got the whole 3 disc box set for $12)

Had a chance to listen to it at all? Their albums were pretty harsh to begin with - I can't imagine what the out-takes or demos are like...

Not yet. Just got it. I'm gonna wait for a late night alone to dig into it.

My most recent:

Picked it up yesterday, and so far...drool I'm constantly impressed with Nickel Creek's musicianship. This is a slight departure for them, but it really is a stunning and beautiful album. I thought I'd miss Alison Krauss' direction, but they're fine on their own! Full review and thread to follow in the near future lol
