The Temptations: Phoenix Rising I've been really interested in listening to some Temptations stuff and I pick this one up Monday and it's solid. Phoenix Rising was their first record to ever go multi-platinum and with the new lineup, they sound very rich and alive as the original line-up did back in 1962. There are some awesome cuts here like Stay, How Could He Hurt You, False Faces, This Is My Promise, and If I Give You My Heart. If you haven't listened to this, pick it up because it is a great album. [Edited 8/3/05 16:40pm] Check me out and add me on:

Those aren't the Temptations - they're four guys and Otis Williams.
Shoot, I'd even settle for the Ollie Woodson version of the Temps... My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth | |

although "Stay" was a blatant self-ripoff of "My Girl"....This Is My Promise is a GREAT song (the 7:20 version is awesome)...easily the best wedding song since "Here and Now"
I don't hate on these guys for being "replacement" Temptations (other than Dennis Edwards, I don't think any of the early Temps are coming back anytime soon, if you know what I mean...)...I'd rather hear these guys with pure singing voices belt out a great, well-written song than listen to 99% of the bullshit that qualifies as music today.
