mr. originality's just the latest in a long line of video divas. Donna Summer had music videos? What is a valkyrie? "Take Me Home"?

In the '70s, Cher did a TV special for the "take me home" album where she's walking through an old house and in every room she walks into, it turns into a video for each song on the album. I remember very clearly watching this when i was a kid. Donna Summer did the same thing when she put out "On the Radio" - I totally remember the video for "Sunset People", because she played a bag lady in it. And Olivia did it with the "Physical" album - I remember begging my mom to let me stay up late to watch it. I dunno if these little gems ever made it to home video, but I'm sure that somewhere in their fan communities you'd be able to find a copy that someone taped that's in circulation. I'd love to see those shows again.

Again, it wasn't released commercially like some of these others, but it's hardly an original idea.

Probably French Kissin' In The USA and that's it, knowing you. And, yeah, I'd LOVE to hear Madonna try to sing any Blondie song ca. 1976-1981. You're a hoot, sexofit. "The kind of music she does"? Blondie was a ROCK group. You can't have a thin, girlish voice for that shit. Debbie had real power. Madonna is not a rock vocalist. MsLegs, I think it's time you crack out your and teach this boy a lesson. [Edited 8/3/05 15:38pm]

Well not the hits I've heard? I thought it was called new wave? Whatever it was called, girl may have a unique voice and u all may love her delivery, but she is weak. People cant stand dylans voice (i can though), but there u go.

Pick up "The Platinum Collection". It has most of their important songs and is the perfect place to start.
If you don't like at least half of it, there's probably something wrong with you.

I've been really feeling "Plastic Letters" over the last few years. "...Presence Dear" and "Denis" are just perfect. And the b-side(?) "Poet's Problem" I really love too. We should just start sending people good music. Like take up donations or something.

Their material got less quirky as they went along, but I've always had a special affection for that record.
