U have'nt read this before??
This book is sooooo great!!!!! I remember borrowing it from the library when it was new,I guess '91/92. It was translated in swedish & I thought it was great, until I bought it in it's original language & that was sooooo much better. So much of it got lost in the translation but since I got it I've read it twice. From the first page you're hooked & U fall deeply in love with the music & the atmosphere. Of all musical biographys I've read this is my absolute favourite. /peace Manki

Better late than never... such a great book. You'll never read a more honest book in your life.
You learn about Miles, and you also learn about one of the people Prince has emulated the most in his life (being a pimp, a total womanizer, a bastard, a motherfucker and a musical genius). Bet ya, you'll rush out and buy a ton of Miles' music after reading the book. I know I did! When he describes what turned him on musically, I just had to know for myself! and I will say this... He was fucking right on!!!! Have u gotten to the part where Cicely pulled out his weave? LOL!

This is one of the best books on Miles I've ever read. The chapetr on his drug phase in the 70's is interesting and his recollections on Prince, Cameo, Jimi, J.B. and Sly is cool also.

I've posted this book in quite a few threads, one just recently.
Best on the subject IMO. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

I've got to pick up this book if nothing more than just to read this part! Just so you know, the whole book is filled with great stories such as these... Jazz legends nodding off from being too fucked up on heroin; Miles nearly clocking Charles Mingus because he wouldn't stop talking on a road trip, The Kennedy Center Honors fiasco (where Miles let some bitch HAVE IT!), the addictions, the women, the music... Not to say that this makes him a good person, but it's so fucking interesting and for better or for worse, he tells it all from his perspective. His quotes about Prince are classic too! (he's like a bitch and a pimp dressed up like a transvestite).
