It looks like Missy is having a hard time with her album. She'd better release a strong second single.

128 JACKSON*MICHAEL ESSENTIAL MICHAEL JACKSON 8,003 / 8,204 It's not much of a greatest hits disc (it's not like "Number Ones" or "History"...it's a record company cutout, just place hit or ohterwise songs and pics in into frame) . Keep in mind, these things barely chart (although I think Sterisand's, which had some of those 1-800 commericals did fairly well) and I for one haven't seen any advertising for it (besides stuff posted here)...

The #2 album in the country only sold 89,875 copies this week! I can't believe album sales are this low! I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

more like already wood---he better pick up the pace, lol Don't set your sights to high, nameless and faceless rap and R&B artists (at least most pop singers ain't that stupid that make such a claim....although grrl rockers L7 had a CD out titled "The Beuty Proces:Triple Platinum", after their heyday and in just, I assume).

It's been a lackluster year/summer. Caryl Simon is in the top ten with 57,641 and Mary, Mary is right behind her with similar numbers. In a "normal" week, I think these Cds might be in the top forty, barely. Here are some interesting higlights I see... 100 BENATAR*PAT GREATEST HITS 10,372/87,160 This Cd is way too similar too "Best Shots"...just proves people really like Pat. 68 GUNS N'ROSES GREATEST HITS 14,396 / 2,257,016 Not to mention they like good rock...a new GnR wouldn't sell that well (probably). 94 BECK GUERO 10,785 / 612,613 Not bad at all! I've heard "Girl" on the radio a few times (granted, alt-rock radio). 168 AMERIE TOUCH 6,149 / 313,770 Of all the samey R&B chicks, I had some hope for her after hearing two really good singles...guess the public doesn't...

Yeah , the sadder thing is I cant beleive this NOW crap hasnt died down, instead it seems to be picking up steam, 436k in opening week. just out of curiosity I checked out the track list to see what the big deal was: 1. Hollaback Girl - Gwen Stefani 2. Switch - Will Smith 3. 1 Thing - Amerie 4. Oh - Ciara with Ludacris 5. Slow Down - Bobby Valentino 6. Mockingbird - Eminem 7. Girlfight - Brooke Valentine with Big Boi & Lil Jon 8. Girl - Destiny's Child 9. La Tortura - Shakira 10. Baby I'm Back - Baby Bash with Akon 11. How To Deal - Frankie J. 12. Ordinary People - John Legend 13. Breathe - Anna Nalick 14. Making Memories Of Us - Keith Urban 15. Incomplete - Backstreet Boys 16. Let Me Go - 3 Doors Down 17. Be My Escape - Relient K 18. Mr. Brightside - The Killers 19. Speed Of Sound - Coldplay 20. Feel Good Inc. - Gorillaz Ok there are a couple good tracks that are worthy, a few I can put up with ,about 5 i never heard of, and 10 I cant stand. Who buys this crap when they can just turn on the radio? [Edited 7/28/05 10:25am]

I remeber in 1999 Rave into joy fantastic debuted with around 85k albums at #18
but after 2000 when 942million cds were sold things have been downhill today it looks about only 600mil albums will be sold. which might increase close to xmas i dont know the loses from cd sales can never be made up with downloads. in all these yrs with itunes have only made the record companies less then $400mil. CD sales r losing out and radio is losing traction Axchi696 said: The #2 album in the country only sold 89,875 copies this week! I can't believe album sales are this low!
