I think you're right but had it been blown up as it was in the case of Donna, I think Janet's career would have serious issues. I think a big part of Donna's downfall were those rumours (although granted her material was getting weaker as well, but she hit hard and even the dance charts weren't to kind to her for a while up until about the mid to late ninties).

Well, the "diving ruling" controversy was directly attributed to Donna. It purportedly came out of her own mouth. The criticisms encircling certain homophobic reggae artists are indirect and don't affect Janet.

You're probably right but I know there was some controversy about Janet working with them (although I doubt she was ever in the studio with either).

I don't know what the "diving rule" comment/controversy is/was? I know the comments that Donna has been accused of making involve saying "God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve" (which she said when introducing her worst song titled "Woman", which leads me to beleive it wasn't neccssarily anti-gay) and refusing to work with former collobrator Paul Jabara who wrote a song about AIDs, which was apparently supposed to build a bridge between Donna and the gay community but she harshly turned it down (she sued over this story because of the apparent comments).

Better than another reggae-song-between-albums track.

Janet: NO MORE REGGAE COLLABOS.

"Feel It Boy" ill "Luv Me Luv Me" ill ANDS (Remix w/Elephant Man) ill

I liked those songs, although Janet's contribution of just a chorus wasn't enough to make them great Janet tracks (haven't heard the ANDS remix though). I wonder if the flack Janet got for collobrating with anti-gay artists (not sure about Shaggy) might have contributed to her sales decline as well? Two words: Donna Summer.

oh, the all nite remix is kicking man! nothin better then bumpin and grindin to that in a club, should have had a video!

Alright, alright. I must admit, if I was DJing a party in the projects I'd throw it in my set.

I wonder if there's a thread for that wink ::shameless, so shameless::
