Robbie Nevil was the shit back then and Funky as hell with cuts like C'est La Vie and Dominoes. Plus, he was kinda sexy in a glam way.

F'real! If you're gonna mention his outdated ass, don't forget that good song! And back on topic...hmmm. Toughie. I love both of their bits hits, but I'm going to go with Nu Shooz. I also liked the follow-up, Point of No Return. The extended cut was cool as fuck. I read once that the original version of I Can't Wait was shit until Shep Pettibone got his hands on it and reworked it. I wanna know what the original sounded like.

I liked Nu-Shooz better.... I am not African. Africa is in me, but I cannot return.
I am not taína. Taíno is in me, but there is no way back. I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there. I am new. History made me. My first language was spanglish. And I am

Nope. I have to vote for T'Pau, even if I'm the only one. "Heart and Soul" was a favorite song of mine when it was out. I still love it. [Edited 7/18/05 23:29pm]

Nu Shooz, who blessed the world with sampled barking dogs and "I Can't Wait"... OR: T'Pau, who got their name from Star Trek and gave us the gift of "Heart and Soul"? Duke it out! Good Question. I love those 80's classics. But my pick is Nu Shooz. I Can't Wait & Point Of No Return were huge hits

Nu Shooz: Valerie Day & John Smith (and yes, they're still married).

Those were both pretty cool dance tunes. They were the opening act for a Santana concert I saw at The Wiltern Theatre some years back. Great Santana show. He had a combination of all the old bands. Graham Lear, Chester Thompson, Tom Coster, Alphonso Johnson and even Buddy Miles came out and did Them Changes. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Nu Shooz without a doubt.Hey, does anybody know what they're doing now? Are they still doing music? And someone said they're still married. I never knew they were married. That's cool.

I like both bands, but I've got to give this one to Nu Shooz. Both "I Can't Wait" and "Point Of No Return" were jams. I'm not familiar with T'Pau beyond "Heart And Soul" (which I also like).
A friend of mine did some session work out in California with Robbie Nevil in the mid 90's. I'm not familiar with any of his stuff either besides "C'est La Vie" -- but I know all the lyrics to that one. I still hear it sometimes when I go out, and I'll start singing it. I'll have to see if I can find "Dominoes".
