Cowboy Troy/Hick Hop Just flipping through my channels and came across this song/video on CMT.
This is absolutely the worst song EVER. The song title is something about a chicken riding a train The song has a country/hip hop artist, Cowboy Troy, rapping to country music. Anyone else seen this? "Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."

I can't believe this guy was actually given a record contract to produce that! I am not a big fan of country or hip hop, so imagine my horror seeing these two items merged together. Absolute shat! Cowboy Troy is the worst act of the last year hands down! "Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."

I thought I saw the thread some time ago, but posted it out of disgust. It is like having Tiger Woods doing hardcore hip hop "Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."

Well I own this CD Loco Motion and yes, consider yourselves lucky this is the song you heard or saw because it only goes downhill from there if that is possible.
So let me explain something, I really like coutry and quite a bit of hip hop/rap so you can imagine that it was something I would prob be interested in. Well Cowboy Troy is part of Big & Rich's Music Mafia and I've seen them twice as openers for my favorite coutry artist Tim McGraw. Now the first time I saw them live I was like whoa gimmick central, but none the less I enjoyed Cowboy Troy's appearance onstage during Big & Rich's song performance. He comes out dressed in flannel, cowboy hat and cowboy boots. Then he rips his flannel open exposing his Superman T-Shirt. Then he starts rappin' his verse going from English to Spanish (I believe). Ok, so it sounds weird but I was interested. Then the second time I saw him on Tim's next tour, he did the same thing but he also came out and rapped a verse to Tim's "She's My Kind of Rain" Surprisingly I enjoyed it very much. I thought it added a nice twist to that song. So...needless to say I was rather excited to grab his CD after it was released. I think it was even pushed up from November to April or May or something like that. But man, like I said as a fan of both coutry and hip hop/rap I could barely get through it. He even has a song with Tim McGraw on his CD that I can barely get through. Sorry this is so long but I figured what the hell, I'd prob be the only one who actually owes this CD in the entire Prince community so why not offer up my lil story to go with it. Peace!

Your tale of woe will serve as a warning. I liked the Nelly/Tim McGraw collab, but I never thought I would see a full fledged hick hop album. I guess when Viacom bought out CMT & BET, the direction they wanted to go towards was more edgy country stuff and concocted the idea of more diversity in the country music vids/music. Some of the vids lately seem more risque`/overplayed (see Shania Twain) and would have Patsy Cline rolling over in her grave Country album sales were pretty strong, but I guess they needed to keep the young people interested. I hear from friends that he's actually a bright, nice guy.
Now that that's out of the way, there was a thread on this 2 months or so ago, and I posted something like this. I sampled some of it on Amazon. I was horrified. He's slaw. He's garbage. He makes Wayne Brady look like Marcus Garvey. By comparison, he makes Tony M. sound like MF Doom and Hammer sound like Pharaoh Monche. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

"Hick hop"??? Cowboy Troy need to sit his ass down somewhere. He is to the redneck community what Bojangles was to Hollywood. I can already see him joining or collaborating with the Black Eyed Peas. Onion Juice appears courtesy of Streethop.com

I'm not gonna lie though Big and Rich was kinda entertaining to watch when they performed at some awards show. I think it was the Grammys. I just had never seen anything like them especially when Cowboy Troy came out there. I couldn't help but laugh. More power to him though for not conforming to the mold he feel he should conform to. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

Big & Rich's debut single, Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy) is THE only song that I actually like from this duo. But for the most part, the Muzik Mafia is trying to make country music as gangsta as hip-hop/r&b (for better or worst).

What's even more riduculous is Big and Rich actually try and perform Lil Kim/Sisco's Lick It song or whatever that is called. I bought fell on my ass in laughter and it was because of the several 32 oz beers I was drinking either.
