Who IS the best Soul group out of these three?

i would put another group but these are the best (to me) Philly Soul Sound groups I know about other than The Dramatics, Black Ivory, O'Jays and Spinners...

New kids on the block did a better version of "didn't I blow ur mind this time" then the delfonics. Strange but true.

Every song a classic."Hey Love" is one of most intoxicating slow jams of all times...so dreamy and lush.Even their uptempo songs ("Loving Him","Funny Feeling") are superb.Lauryn Hill is a huge fan of this group.When she was in the Fugees,she did a hip-hop re-make of their song "Ready Or Not (Here I Come)".Then,when she guested on a Nas song ("If I Ruled The World (Imagine That"),she sang the hook from the song "Walk Right Up To The Sun".The Delfonics like to point out that,when he was a young kid,Michael Jackson considered them his favorite group.

I love all three of these groups, but know the least about The Moments. Even if I knew more about them, I don't think it would change my stand on The Delfonics. Superb vocal group. Trying to Make a Fool of Me, Break Your Promise and Ready or Not are my favorites of theirs.

not to mention they are the highest grossing "oldies act"on the scene--they are always the headliners at the old school shows, whether it's 3 acts or 15. their sound and moves haven't missed a beat. the delfonics, on the other hand, are painful to hear and watch nowadays.

well Russell's voice isn't what it used to be--the guy that replaced him, Harold "Eban" Brown, is a dead ringer for vintage Thompkins, voice wise. Russell got the short end of the stick on this one, because he's basically fronting a cover band. Whereas the Stylistics are performing in arenas and theatres, the New Stylistics are performing at halls and caberets.

Ok so, that's what's up with the group.

The Moments/Ray, Goodman & Brown.

Harry Ray's voice on Sexy Mama still makes me swoon.

Man I love all three of those groups. From Delphonics Walk Right Up Too The Sun, To Stylisitcs Funky Weekend to my all time favorite Moments/RGB Special Lady.

There will never be groups like that now a days that were dominating radio in the late 60's til' the 70's. They just don't have the soul in them. Also suprised nobody metioned the Enchantment with Gloria, The Manhattans, The Dells, or the Intruders.

One bsad thing abou all of this is that The Moments, Stylisticas and Delphonics will most likely not make it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
