After the BET awards, Mariah decided it would be a great idea to pose for the press with a homeless dude for about 5 seconds. Then she got up without a thank you, a handshake, money, or even an acknowledgement of his existence. Glad you got that Live 8 spirit rarin' to go, Mariah!

There were like 40 photogs around, and she's posing especially for them. In the vid she just randomly walks over to him, plops down, then gets up.

These pics really highlight the contrast between poverty and wealth. Very disturbing.

Do we know for sure that this guy is homeless or are we guessing he is? I dunno. I see people like this on a daily basis in my neighborhood, and they're not all homeless. If he is, I'm not excusing the behavior, but it's sort of an awkward position to be in. If she doesn't pose for a picture, she's snubbing the guy. If she does and doesn't give him money, a ride or whatever the case may be, she's not doing enough. Also, I think it would be a bit presumptuous to drop some money in his lap.

Again, I'm not making excuses for her, but these are the things that popped in my head. I don't know enough about it to make any sort of complete thought on the matter. I don't know what I would have done in her position, because I don't know anything about the guy. If he said, "Hey, Mariah. I'm homeless. Can you give me a buck or two," and then she didn't do anything...different story altogether.

And P.S. watch the vid if you want to see what happened. She went over there because she thought it would be a good photo op, and you can hear one of the photogs screaming "That's a great pose, Mariah!"
