Well, these are merely accusations. But only time will tell. I heard Tigga gonna be on Hot97 tomorrow, he'll most likely deny it all. But if he's really on the DL, I hope he's learned his lesson and stops - either go all out with it or dont do it at all. Onion Juice appears courtesy of Streethop.com

HIV by way of drug usage is FAR FAR FAR greater than HIV by way of the so-called "down low brotha". I hate it when people spout pop science without knowing the facts. I'm really sick of these rumors designed to further destroy the image of the black male. Color ain't got a damn thing to do with it. There are plenty of white men in the closet also. The difference is, most of the white bisexual men, at least admit to themselves and the gay community, that they are bisexual. The only people they won't admit to is the straight community. That's why they are known as closeted bisexuals. The majority of the black men, however, refuse to admit it to themselves and the gay community that they fool around. They won't even admit it to the male sexual partner that they are fooling with. They will say they are straight in the middle of and during the actual sexual act of another man sucking on their dick. This is very serious denial and they absolutely refuse to accept their bisexuality. These are usually black men from the ghetto that have had this "I ain't no damned weak faggot" preached to them constantly. There are also tons of ex-cons out there that were introduced to the lifestyle in prison. Professional black men are usually more willing to admit their bisexuality. There are white men in serious denial like this also but they are usually low class men like truckers, stage hands, carnival workers, or other men that travel constantly. Black people need to stop letting the devils in the media sell fear to our community disguised as awareness. There are far fewer of these "dow lows" than are rumored to be. I hate rumors that drag down and divide our community.
Quite the opposite. There are far more of these down low men that have just not been outed. They act overly masculine to hide the fact that they fool around. The average straight man, black or white, is not near as overly masculine and thuggish as the rapper types out there. Also, most straight men don't have a problem with gay men and feel the need to bash them. Unless you frequent a black gay club on a regular basis or have fooled around yourself, there is no way possible for you to know what actually goes on out there as far as these men straddling the fence. Trade black men are going to try to turn it into a racial thing to get the heat off of them. There are far more out there than are outted and they keep it well hidden. The stupid gay men they fool with keep their secret also. If the gay men had any sense, they would be the ones outting them instead of the women catching these men. Gay men need to stand up and out these motherfuckers, if for nothing else, revenge for the way these men have treated them. They don't need to let the women do all the work for them. They need to be working with the women and out them themselves. Pride is far more important than going with the program just so they can get some dick. it is ONE reason but not the ONLY reason of this epidemic. sadly, a lot of bruthas spend some time on lockdown, where they willingly or unwillingly engaged in some risky behavior (sex and drugs)...when they leave prison, they may not be very forthcoming of what went down behind bars. That's another thing. Many men are first introduced to gay sex in prison. There are many gay clubs and cruising areas that are full of ex-cons that are trying to hustle sex for money. A gay man should never pay for sex. If he pays for sex, he needs his ass beat and he needs it beat hard. If anything, these trade motherfuckers need to be paying the gay men because they are the ones giving the pleasure. It's time for gay men to stop being looked upon as the "worst thing there is in society" and they should even start looking down their noses at other people because they are the ones with the guts to do as they please and not give a damn what anyone else thinks. The guys who do this are low, your right but keep in mind....The whole DL thing is nothing but a conspiricy to weaken the strong masculine image of black males! Sure there are black guys who are on the dl, but its not like all or even most black guys are into this. Guys with that "strong masculine image" are usually the ones that are fooling around. Straight men are not that masculine. Straight men don't have anything to prove, down low men do. Before hip hop took over, you used to could spot a down low man strictly by the way he was dressed. They were the very first men dressing the "thugged out" look. Now that hip hop has taken over, it's hard to tell the straight men from the down low men. Instead of gay men approaching other men like they used to do in the past, now they have to wait to be approached because it's hard to spot these down low motherfuckers out because everyone looks like them these days. Listen to yourselves! Thats exactly how some of you sound! Can you really blame men that are on the dl? I don't agree with it 100% but hell, how can you blame them? Look how gay people get treated! Some people treat gay people (especially gay men) like they're the scum of the earth, if you're out and proud more power to you, but don't you dare be angry at someone who feels they have to put on a front to survive, you of ALL people should understand why they feel the way they feel. I don't blame anyone for living in a closet and I have much sympathy for them because every gay man and woman has been in the closet at one point or another. I do, however, have a problem with a motherfucker that is in a closet that shoots his mouth off against gay people, bad mouths them, bashes them, beats them, drags them, etc. If a man is in the closet...fine, he needs to keep his damned mouth shut. If he wants to start some shit with openly gay men, he best prepared to be outted his damn self because gays ain't playing that weak shit no more. Andy is a four letter word.

Whenever there is a problem in our a race, I seen some of the brothas on this thread do the following: blame it all on the Black Woman, or say its a conspiracy and blame it all on the poweres that be without getting to the solution of the problem. [Edited 7/12/05 7:41am] C'mon do you really believe this DL crap? Sure there are some bro's who do it, but do you believe that black guys do it more than any other race? Why the focus on black men? Why doesn't the media just say men of all races are on the DL? From what I have seen, many white men can admit it and black men can't. That's why they are on the "down low" while many of the white men are "openly bisexual". For some reason, and I don't know why....black men and women have had a problem for ages owning up to certain sexual acts. I can remember in the 1980s, black men refused to admit that they ate pussy and black women also refused to admit that they sucked dick. White men and women back then, had no problem admitting this. It wasn't until the 1990s, that I saw black men and women admitting to such acts. Andy is a four letter word.

You know its really funny. Whenever a Black Women is articulate ,aggressive, sensualand opininated and takes no shit from her man all a sudden she is percieved as bitter. Some of you Black man are threaten by women that don't take your shit and I really find fuckas like your ass to be comical but I still got love for ya. However, I know that their are still some real true Black Men who aren't threaten by a non passive women. I'm glad to see you are a strong woman that don't take no shit. That's what I admire about you. A friend of mine outted this guy to his girlfriend and she didn't believe him. She and her boyfriend, both were the types that run around calling people "faggotts". My friend set the guy up for the girl to walk in on him and the guy having sex. When she caught them, she was mad at first, but then the weak bitch "stood by her man" like a damn fool even after seeing with her own two eyes. I got mad and told the bitch "why the hell aren't you calling your damned boyfriend a faggot, he's the one you need to be calling these names". Well, over the years, the bitch is still with him and now she has AIDS because, since then, he has fucked every gay man and drag queen he could get his dick in and brought the AIDS back home to her. She was warned though, but she chose to be a damned fool. It's great to see gay men and straight women being the best of friends and working together against these lowdown snakes. Those bastards make a fool out of both the gay men and the straight women and the two need to gang up against the fuckers and put them in their places. Andy is a four letter word.

Judging from the tone of your posts, your full of bullshit and bitter towards Black Women. You don't know nothing about me andyet you chose to prejudge me , disrect me like a insecure weak triflin bitch made muthafucka would do. Only a pitiful fuck would do that and here I thought your ass was different but I see you still have growing up to do. Now after you grow a set of balls and stop ing off like little boys do perhaps then, we can have a civil adult conversation. You are a bad lady and deserve much respect for understanding, realizing, and facing the truth in this matter. You must have had many gay male friends to hip you to these motherfuckers because the average straight person refuses to believe it until it has been proven to them. The only way for some people to believe it would be to actually have a videotape of the motherfuckers having sex. Even then, the trade bastards would probably say the tape was edited with special effects. Andy is a four letter word.

It's worth noting that the lowest-common-denominator stereotypes that made "Gone with the Wind" and "Birth of a Nation" enduring, subtextual American classics can be seen at play in the African-American hue given to discussions of "DL" men. Such labels as "DL Brothas" and "baby-mommas" and "baby-daddies" insinuate themselves into the American lexicon as little more than shorthand for alleged black behavior in the 2000's, the way "welfare queens," "pimps" and "drive-bys" did in decades past. It all smacks of "The Bell Curve," thinly veiled racism and a wink at eugenics. The discussions' bottom line usually can be boiled down to the argument: "Why can't those people control themselves?" as if sexual proclivities and complexities were a black invention instead of a human reality. Race -- as most scientists agree -- is little more than a fairy tale. When it becomes a factor in discussions of human behavior -- more so than, say, economic levels and access to resources -- it becomes worse, mythology dressed up as revelation. Men and women of all stripes have issues relating to each other, not the least of which romantically. When discussions of those varying relations get colored by race (pardon the pun), it never takes long for darker peoples to be vilified or dehumanized, all these centuries later. Happy 2005.

The DL is not a stereotype, Black men and Black women have a unique response to homosexuality or bisexuality, especially as it relates to the image of sex in the hip-hop culture. The mere appearance of homosexuality/bisexuality is enough to stir up the hip-hop world. It's Black people like superhead and Wendy Williams doing the stirring, not some white author. Why are we stirred up is the question?
