What rocks bands do you listen to? I used to be a die hard rock fan but for the last few years I really haven't been into any of the new stuff because it simply sucks. The only modern bands I really like are Marilyn Manson and the White Stripes. Green Day are cool too but I haven't got their new album. I also still listen to my old skool stuff like G N'R, Poison, Warrant and alot of other hair metal bands.
How about you? | |

As for newer rock bands, I have been listening to Kings of Leon alot lately. Drive By Truckers, as well. [Edited 7/12/05 18:48pm] a psychotic is someone who just figured out what's going on

Being a hardcore funkateer since the old days, I used to be a "down low" closet rocker back in the day. I loved it but I would never admit it back in the day.
Since I "came out of the rock closet" when funk died and hip hop took over in the 1990s, I was really enjoying stuff like "Semi-Charmed Life" by Third Eye Blind and "Two Princes" by....well, I don't know who sings the song. Anyway, during the 1990s, when I was opening up more to rock, the damned "unplugged" era had to come along and spoil it. Everyone had to strip down the sound and go accoustical just to prove they could actually play and sing live.....thanks a lot Milli Vanilli. This bored the hell out of me because I can't think of any music that bores me more than folk music, which is what all this unplugged stuff sounded like. I've recently started going back and buying a lot of old rock that I secretly loved back in the day. I really love some Def Leppard, Van Halen, AC/DC, Rod Stewart, Rolling Stones, etc. Andy is a four letter word.

Gosh, too many to mention.

It depends on what kind of Rock. A majority of my favorites are Punk/Alternative/College Rock, but I like some Hard Rock, Classic Rock, and Heavy Metal. Some. But don't ask me about that crappy 80's corporate Rock, please. Just look at my signature. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Not a lot of rock bands from "now", I have to admit. I generally love mostly bands from the 6s and 70s. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

Rock is meant to be loud and agessive. Who wants to hear some filky shit? I was recently thinking of buying a Def Leppard cd. That is one band I don't own anything by. By the way, on a recent trip to NY I got these crazy mash up cd's called Fuckintosh and it's a combo of Johnny Cash vs ACDC and another one of Marilyn Manson vs Prince. It's wild but it rocks! Do you like any of the following bands? Stryper (Christian cheese metal ) Cinderella LA Guns Faster Pussycat They all rock! I want to buy a Stryper cd but i'm too embarrased.

How about you? Not really finding a lot of current Rock to my tastes... Slipknot I like, though I totally understand why many can't stand them. I also love an Irish band called Therapy? That aside, I am a major Rock fan, but it's all old or "classic" Rock: Guns N Roses ("Appetite For Destruction" = ) Aerosmith Slayer Led Zeppelin (One band I always hated, now I have them stuck in my head ) AC/DC Ozzy/ Black Sabbath Queen I even play in a Rock covers band, and again it's all the old stuff. One thing, though: My wife loves Green Day and I recommend American Idiot - a good, diverse album. They are great live too.
