I haven't heard Egyptian Lover, but I know that nothing can compete with 1999. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

I love "On The Nile" but I would still have to go with "1999". Andy is a four letter word.

I can kinda see the comparison. The Egyptian Lover has always reminded me a little of Prince because he does everything himself. Both artists have had a modern futuristic sound at one time or other and some of The Egyptian Lover's music sounds similar to Prince....especially "Freak-A-Holic" and "The Alezby Inn". Andy is a four letter word.

As we all know, Prince has cut down on the use of synths over the last couple of years. But E.L. still stands by nothing but synths & drum machines. And to my knowledge, he never used a sampler (yet).
