Madonna and Mariah beefing? How long has this been going on? I had no fucking idea.

July 8, 2005 -- THE bad blood between Madonna and Mariah Carey backstage at Live 8 in London has been boiling for at least a decade. We reported that Madonna ordered underlings to keep Carey "far away" from her during the African-aid concert. Yesterday, gossip Web site Jossip dished that the ill will stems from nasty remarks Madonna made about Carey in 1995, when Mariah was a chart-topping juggernaut and Madonna's popularity was waning. The site posted a video that MTV Europe dug up of Carey hitting back that same year, saying, "I really haven't paid attention to Madonna since like seventh or eighth grade, when she used to be popular."

"What do you expect? This is the same country that buys Mariah Carey records.It has nothing to do with art"---Madonna in 1995,when asked her view of the OJ Simpson verdict

I just found out this out recently too.

I think Madonna and Janet have been going at it for a long time too, which is why their fans clash

Mariah was so pissed when Madonna made those comments (about the OJ verdict) that,a few weeks later,she dissed Maddy at some awards show.She got onstage to present an award to Gladys Knight.She said something like "Gladys has always presented herself with class and style,unlike so many other artists who rely on gimmicks and stunts".The shocker is that Madonna was sitting in the audience! LOL...does anyone have Mariah's exact quote?

this feud started when Maddy wanted to give MJ a complete "makeover".She wanted him to come out of the closet (so to speak),and Janet was pissed.She has made several negative comments about Madonna.For her part,Maddy hasn't really said anything publicly about Janet.

Yep her performance was very well received.

In one of the Toronto papers they listed her performance as one of the 10 highlights of the entire event.

Mariah and JLo go way back but supposedly they've made amends.

Madge has never been jumped cause she'd be able to take them down. Between Janet Mariah and Whitney the three she's had an open feud she's the only one that actully had to live on the streets for any lenght of time.
