It's very interesting to hear Bjork continue to explore her "serious music" roots. It's great that there are people like Bjork still around...gives me faith that there always will be.

I'll bump the thread since I'm shocked at the lack of interest sad
I think the album sounds more accessible than "Medulla" maybe because it has instrumentaion, some of it makes me even think of "vespertine" although the disk sounds liek it will minimal vocally
how amazing does this movie look??!!!! and it looks like Bjork will be in it 2.

But it looks like we won't be getting a new studio album soon, after her LIVE 8 performance she said she hasn't even started it yet and doesn't know when she will. also for anyone who's interested this is what she performed at her LIVE 8 set in Japan:
Pagan Poetry, All Is Full Of Love, Desired Constellation, Jóga, Hyperballad, Generous Palmstroke, Bachelorette and It's In Our Hands (Soft Pink Truth Remix).

Actually, I haven't listened yet. And I won't until it comes out. I don't like to spoil the surprise.

Do you know who she had in her band? I'm interested since Medulla and this new one most likely won't have tours.

Thank you twink, especially for the update on her Live 8 performance. I've been trying to find live broadcast somwhere with no luck. There are a couple of great threads (Anxiety and Gangstafam) about this a few weeks ago that are worth a look if you love Bjork. I listened to a few snippets but it is such a concept work I decided to wait until the July 25th release date. Hopefully it won't be too dificult to find the movie near here.

Okay, so I'm answering my own question:

Björk took the stage for the Live8 event on saturday in Tokyo with Matmos, Zeena and a japanese string octet by her side, and performed the following songs infront of 10,000 people; Pagan Poetry, All Is Full Of Love, Desired Constellation, Jóga, Hyperballad, Generous Palmstroke, Bachelorette and It's In Our Hands (Soft Pink Truth Remix). Afterwards, there was a press conference. Some quotes:

"I look at the news, I see people starving, I am crying. I'm a total mess. You try to think how you're going to break through this cobweb of problems and bureaucracy and how on Earth anybody is going to make any change."

"I guess sometimes I feel there's not much hope to change anything... but I have to say, when I started to see in the news that Bob Geldoff was gonna get people together, it sorta felt that maybe there was about 5% hope -- which is better than zero!"

"It seems to me that the politicians of the rich countries are almost like this VIP that are untouchable - and then the rest of the public of their own countries and of all the other countries of the world are like the "other" chunk that don't have a voice... so, I would like to say that I am part of that huge chunk, which actually is about... 95% of the world!"

As for what is up next, she replied in a recent issue of German magazine SZ; "Nothing! Wonderful! The film project has been completed, and as soon as this interview is over, I will go to Iceland for 2 months... and afterwards - no idea!"

I've heard "Storm" before a while back, I just didn't know the name of it at the time. omg It was a live bootleg I found at Emule. This was around the time Medulla came out, so I was thinking that maybe it's a B-side to Medulla. Hunter Vessel and Vessel Shimenawa sound too much alike, or is it just me? "Cetacea" seems promising though from what I've heard, but overall I don't think I'm gonna be too crazy about this one.

"One little indian" really do pimp her for all she's worth, I think they have released every note she's sang and then re packaged it as a box set, in LIVE, STUDIO and accoustic versions

Actually, there are quite a few remixes that are still hard to track down from various rare vinyl singles. I've had a really hard time tracking them all down. And you know I need them all. giggle
