Fergie just doesn't convince me anymore.
And by grabbing her crotch in the shut up video didn't make things better. She has a great voice, but I'm just not feelin' her.

OnionJuice said: I dont hate BEP, nor do I really like them either, but they did definately sell out though.
When they first started, they were on some real authentic hiphop shit (like Roots, Slum Village, Jurassic 5, etc.), which I will admit these days wont always get the bills paid. All of that changed with the Elephunk album - they got some the Village People-meets-hip hop shit and just went commercial pop musically. They went from breakdancing to having this white girl shake her ass. Fergie pretty much outshines everybody else; she's like the lead singer/dancer and the other three guys are her backup who do the music even though they rap alot. But overall its more like Fergie and The Black Eye Peas now. I remember they acutally said once in an interview when fans see them, they mainly rushed up to Fergie. LOL! But I aint mad, I dont hate...I understand it is, getcha money. BTW, here's more to prove your point even better: http://www.fergiefan.com/

because they absolutely suck and Fergie's face looks like a crotch-shot of a venerial disease? "Awards are like hemorrhoids. Sooner or later, every asshole gets one."

If they'd left it "retarded" for the single version, I think I'd totally love them. Not in any way that would make me appreciate their vibe, their music, their style, their personalities, etc. But just in that way that it would be great if someone had a song out on the radio called "Let's Get Retarded" GangstaFam's right.... obnoxious attention hogs saying "look at me! look at me!" every second they're on-camera... from their looks, to their fashion, to their irritating and improbable dance moves. Didn't know them before Fergie, don't wanna know 'em now. They wear stupid shit, take stupid looking pictures, do stupid ass commercials & make music that's corny as fuck (from the little I've heard). They'll be remembered as an NBA jingle - let the fade begin...
Oh, and while we're talking about Fergie in particular - her face is disturbing, sorry to say. She's on some Cruella Deville shit. That chin & those eyebrows are just so jokerish to me... [Edited 7/6/05 2:13am]

[Edited 7/5/05 20:44pm] That's quite the opinion there. I'd put virtually everything on LAMB ahead of "Millionaire". There are much better tracks on Tasty. Yikes! Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Man, the BEP's are lame. I heard of them in 98 with that Joints and Jamz (I think) song and I thought they were cool. I thought they'd blow up with the song they did with Macy Gray in 2001 but they didn't. At the time, they sounded fresh to me. When I heard and saw the video to "Where Is The Love" I knew they would blow up but for once it made me sad. They blew up because they got Fergie in the group. To me she was the biggest sign of them selling out. I don't like her voice and I don't see what she brings to the table for them. Another thing I remember that no one brought up was that Justin Timberlake was on the song and if we go back to 2003, everything he did turned into gold so him being on that track helped them a lot. Plus all the other songs after "Where Is..." just sucked. Don't get me started on Don't Phunk With My Heart." The video's lame too. It's "Hey Ya" meets The Price Is Right. And I don't mind positive rap and all but don't sell out in the process and unfortunately the BEP have done just that. That's just my 2 cents. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Thank you for being very honest Purplecan. 1) I knew good and well that Fergie (by herself) had to be at least part (if not THE only) reason why BEP are getting bash from time to time. 2) I agree with you 100% about the Justin Timberlake factor. Without going too far off the subject of THIS thread, Justin is still looking for respect within the hip-hop culture. And despite good success working with the BEP and Snoop Dogg, Justin is still receiving mixed reactions from the fans & critics alike. Even Simon Cowell thinks that Justin is trying too damn hard!!!

You guys are going to DIE when you hear the song 'my humps'.
It's on their new album. Basically throughout the song Fergie's singing "I'm gonna get you drunk off my humps,my humps,my humps,my lovely lady lumps"
