Pretty cool but more like a bass excercise and even though Bootsy was his teacher, there's only one Bootsy. Thanks for the tip it's cool music. I'm not crazy about the production of the CD I have "Freekbass"...seems kinda thin...but I like what he does and what he has the potential to do...I wish they would go WAY over the top with him... Someone that dresses like that should be OUT there. The "cool video" potential is not even tapped into. That's kinda what I'm waiting for. He just needs the right song. No need to defend him, I know he's no Bootsy but he's trying and he's original. I just get bored with people who try to do funk around an instrument (bass) when to me, funk is about all of the intruments. I'm thankful for the heads-up on this guy because you're right, with the right song or group of musicians, this guy is one to watch for the future of funk.

NWF said: If you're into the FUNK with some Latin flavor and electronica/dance in the mix, I strongly suggest you check out Los Amigos Invisibles.
Get their first 2 albums: [Edited 7/5/05 17:03pm] Wow, yet another cool Spanish speaking band with cool percussion and great music. I will be buying these, thanks. Some of it reminds me of Bebel Gilberto and the funk kinda gets a little to close to disco from what little I heard. I need to hear more before having any more thoughts. Thanks again

Yeah I know it's not the sorta funk he's asking for but when the local radio station started playing it I fell in love with it's old-school nature so I thought I'd share. The guy (Brit, lives in Berlin) is really an 'electronica' artist who, it was later realised (after a few experimental techno albums), could actually sing...albeit with that Otis Redding pull-off, but still a cracking voice and cracking song. The albums also called Multiply and there are some tracks on there that aren't bad. Sure the title track is the stand-out, but there's also another radio fave. And the others are pretty varied so you don't get bored. Check it out on eMule or something first

Keziah Jones from Nigeria, famous in France and a few other 'mainland' European countries and criminally unheard of in the UK... But yeah, FUCKING GREAT ARTIST, who came years BEFORE Van Hunt. Was descovered busking on the Paris underground and since then has crafted his own totally individual style of blues/funk/soul/african rhythms. He's great with the geetar also. Get his last album 'Black Orpheus', and then the one called something like 'Blu-Funk is Fact!'.

With things like this...if you don't make a statement then you're not really saying anything. "The future of funk"...that's scary. How 'bout a transition back to funk? That's why I'm hoping they figure out how to do it right. The formula isn't that hard. Why do you like playing around with my narrow scope of reality? - Stupify

I even met him and asked about his guitar style. It is very unique and entertaining. Yeah, but he gave a wicked performance. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.
