I'm actually right now watching Ciara on a re-run of the BET awards. She's a great dancer and the "hot thing" for the moment, but I don't see any staying power. These great dancers need to decide if they want to primarily sing or dance while performing, because usually they are unable do both and still turn in a great performance. Damn this kooky love affair....

Ashanti sucks just as much as Ciara. Both repetitive with weak ass beats.
I don't understand what makes a 'crunk' song or wtf is up with the genre. The songs don't sound shit alike to me,all that sounds alike are them talking about getting ass in atlanta, georgia. Ciara's music is awful to dance to,it's just way too slow.

Ciara sucks. Her voice is as thin as air and her songs follow the predictable "hip-hop-meets-R&B" formula, complete with guest rappers on every other song (ooh! Such an innovative concept!!),numerous samples and weak, forgettable lyrics. She's not even that pretty. She's just a second-rate Aaliyah clone.

Maybe it's a good thing, but i only know 1 Ciara song (goodies) and i seen her perform once on a New Years eve special.
I feel so out of touch with the world.

Man, she sucks. I don't like any of her 3 songs and I really don't see what's great about her dancing either.
But that opinion is coming from someone who has formal dance training.

Its simple math.
Olivia -(minus) a badly-timed record deal + hard times + G-G-G-G-G G-Unit - 50 Cent - vocal skills - about 10 years - the ability to play keys and guitar and self produce + Missy Elliot x Timbaland + a 19" waistline + a young fanbase = Ciara Any questions?

Yeah, that waistline of hers, it sure as hell ain't 19 inches. LOL! It might have been pretty close...okay a 25" waistline. If you've seen Olivia these days, you know for sure hers isn't anymore, not that she's fat or anything. [Edited 7/5/05 10:24am]

But for real, Ciara can sing and dance, but nowadays if you wanna be a star, I guess you just gotta follow the trend and get in where your fit it, and cater to those who buy your shit. A lot of great singers cant play instruments or produce, so we cant hold that against her either. She's got some decent songs on her album but her released singles are made for dancing and dont really allow her to use her voice to the fullest extent. She has enough popularity so maybe she'll showcase better on her next album. Onion Juice appears courtesy of Streethop.com

Ok, let's look at the singing part first. Now, Ciara doesn't really sing, she talks. Whether it's if you want the goodies the goodies stay in da jar! in her breathy Monroe imitation or so hypnotic ultrasonic blah blah blah let me see you 1-2-step where she just sounds totally bored in the studio. And I mean basically all the songs on the record are like that. From what I hear, half the chicks in the world can "sing" as "well" as she can. And then there's her dancing, which is entirely debateable. Most people on the org thinks she resembles big bird when she dances, though. [Edited 7/5/05 10:42am]

She's probably a nice lay and that's about it. She's all sexy, all video and all fad rolled into 1. Nothing special about her vocals. "But what of black women? . . .
