Sigur Ros

Anyone else here a fan?

They are going on tour this fall; I will have the opportunity to see them but I'm not sure how they are live.

It seems like it would be either really amazing or really weird.

Any thoughts?

I've seen them twice now and both shows were phenomenal.

The first show was in a small theater in Mpls. I was stone-sober and seriously left the show feeling like I was on drugs. Simply mesmerizing.

The second time was at The Glastonbury Festival. It rained thru their set which just seemed so fitting. I was afraid to see them outdoors, thinking they may get lost with all that space, but they didn't. They just filled the field with their sounds and took me to another planet.

PS- both shows WERE really weird, but in a completely good way nod

Thanks! wink

They are playing a show in a relatively small city: Durham, NC. Probably the smallest city on their US tour. It's only a 2 hour drive and tix are only about $30, and I do love their music. So hell, why not?

It's not 'til September but their tix must be high-demand because they go on sale in a couple of weeks. eek

I saw them live a few years back, and it was only after that concert I went to the store to get their cd.

The show was great, very dreamy and eerie. It was not the kind of show I was fully concentrated on the music, because it made me contemplate. I was sober, but I saw images of fire, elves and waves beating my feet...

and eek They were so young ! Almost looked like little kids.

I think they're amazing live.
I saw them at a rockfestival and it was a pity they had to play at 3 pm. But still it was great. Their music needs to be played at night though.
